M4 GTS...7:28 Nurburgring time...

Wow an only $135k car beat the GT350 by a whopping 1-3 seconds (depending which best time you take for the R).

You could only buy 2 GT350s for that cost That says more for a Mustang that it can come that close to $120-150k cars at half the price.

This is an excellent testament to the great performance prowess of the gt350. However the M4 is more than just a track car. It is a great investment too. The price of the gts will remain where it is and will be a highly sought after collector car. The purchaser of the gts will make money off of the initial "investment" and will be able to sell it to cover all costs of ownership. Even if driven this car will gain value immediately. This is not the case for the gt350. Maybe the r if kept in a garage and never driven but never to the extent of the m4.

If you're buying cars as investments you're doing it wrong to begin with. Cars, better modern cars, are incredibly poor investments

An M4 has nowhere near the name/heritage as other limited runs cars that have gained value in the past 10 years (modern era cars I would call them)- Ford GT and Mercedes SLS (formerly the Gullwing)

Now it may hold value better being a more rare trim, but I would argue a 350R will to if they only make 500 or less over the 3 year production run. They're making 700 of these and 500 or less Rs WITH the Shelby name attached.

Sorry not a Viper fan...I think they are hideous. Not to mention the build quality on these cars has a lot to be desired. Have you seen some of the body gaps on these cars.

Have you been inside a new 4 series/M4 without leather interior? Heck even with the leather dash it's probably the worst interior that you can buy for $60k. Having been inside both, the 5th gen Viper feels better built, more expensive and exotic than any M3 or M4. Not sure where you're getting this "poor build quality" from but AFAIK the new viper even feels more solid and upscale than my $170k AMG. Which is why it's going to be my next car. I was hoping to get the GT350R but now that they're going to discontinue the Viper soon I couldn't help but change my mind.

Can't go wrong with 8.4 liters of V10 badassery with a long hood, massive rear tires, a 6 speed manual and arguably one of the most menacing soundtracks and distinctive looks on the road.
