Any regrets on the GT350?

Long story short, I'm #2 on my deals list for a GT350, 1st one spoken for. It should be in about a month or so. My debate is I've got a 2015 GT PP with Recaro's that I've SC'ed, full exhaust and a few odds and ends. I'm currently at or around 700rwhp I don't drive the car daily so when I do I like to hammer on it a bit. I like doing some track stuff, not the small ones but the mile or longer where you can actually open it up. I've had the car at 140+ many times. With that comes chips ,nicks and just wear and tear on it. I don't worry too much about a mechanic or tech test driving and such because at the end of the day it's still just a Mustang "GT". I'm scared if I go with the Shelby I'll quit having fun as I'm too scared of nicks, chips,,,,,ext,. I've already read post that people scheduled days off for work done as the tech won't drive their car. I don't want to turn out to be that guy.:frusty:

I think you won't have that mentality. It seems like you view your cars as your pleasure toys, nothing more. With that said, if your scared of nicks and chips, get a clear bra. That saves you from most if not all of it. Clear bra the whole car if you've got money to burn.

I had the Zebart one installed once, they claim it's good up to 120mph.....it was shredded after an open airport run. Lol !! You're exactly right it's supposed to be a toy but you kinda look at a Shelby as something more. They are sweet!! Going to be tough cause I really want that Shelby bad!

You might want to consider the 3M Clearbra. I have been using them for years. I have them on all the P-cars - 14 years on the 2001 911 turbo and no issues. Trust me, it was driven at very high speeds on the race track and street/highway.

Just get it! If you don't the only regret you'll have is that you didn't.

I'd keep the GT since you're supercharged. The only time the GT350 is going to be faster is a around a track with a pro driving it. In a straight line you're going to really notice the major drop in torque from what you have now. I have a strong feeling we might see the GT500 at the NY auto show so it might be worth waiting a bit.

Man it's an entirely different animal. If you have the opportunity to get a 350 then you should. Worst case scenario, you will have zero issue selling it and you can build another supercharged GT.

I'm coming from similar power level as you (off on 05 though) and I don't miss it at all. And if I really want some extra power, it's not going to be hard to do with this car. This car is just fantastic. Period

My only regret is that mine isn't an R model. As ordering one was nearly impossible without paying a hefty ADM, ordering a R model wasn't an option for me. If my dealer ever gets an allocation for one I will swap mine.

You might recall my R ordeal. At this point I am pretty happy though. However, just for value I would've like the R and I'll be honest the extra exclusivity. But, I am
very happy with this car. Very. Probably actually enjoy this car more than I would an R for the simple creature comforts.

I disagree. All that extra horsepower doesnt help the car stop or turn any faster. In fact in some cases,amatuers get over their head with too much HP, end up braking way too early (ie corner parking), are less aggressive on corner exit, and thus go slower.

To the OP, it really depends on your intended type of use and desired driver experience.

I got a month to think it over, I just have sooo much fun in my GT!!! But as one post said the exlusive feel you get from the Shelby.

Keeping both an option? I kept my 350Z, though admittedly, it's only worth $10-12K. It does consume valuable garage space though - currently my garage houses two cars (that I cannot drive in the winter) both hooked to battery tenders.

I have no regret and that after coming from a Hellcat and an 800hp 14 gt500. The gt350 is sublime in its design and balance and in the end I will take N/A over forced any day of the week.......Steve

just did a serious upgrade in vehicle for my wife so keeping both,,,, no way.
As far as engine, a good N/A engine is great but F/I is unbelievable. Of the 4 vehicles I currently own my GT was the only one that was N/A. I'm supposed to talk to dealer first on next week, I've made my mind up that if the color is black or comp/orange I'm in..... If not holding off untill the R's or the 500 comes out. and it will come out!!
