Im sure i can keep the £1000 in it I paid as deposit. I certainly wouldn't switch if they won't let that transfer as I'm not losing £1k to nothing. I meant that I paid deposit after the first price increase of £1k but before the £500 so would like to get a car at the list price from August when I bought it.

If they are willing to transfer my paid £1k to a car but at the new list then I won't go for it and will wait the 4 or 5 months.

My assumption would be that if you were able to "transfer" your order to one of the delivered cars then original order price would apply, but if you had to cancel your original order and have your deposit refunded then you would pay new list price for the delivered car.

I could easily be wrong however...it's happened before.

I assume it will be registered at list when 'bought' (ie when the customer who cancelled put their deposit down).
Again, i also assume you can transfer that 1k deposit onto it to say 'yep this is now mine' and pay for the rest of it once the car comes.

Having bought one the cars on the list and taking delivery just after the price increase, I can say that I didn't pay the +£500 price last week, but the earlier price. So hopefully you guys who have orders at the even lower "gate" price can pick up a car quickly at the reduced price, am sure if Ford UK could help you (like they helped me) then it will all be good?

Well i've been hounding them about my car (And yes before anyone moans at me for not having waited 'that long' in comparrison, the 'broken promise/failed commitment' is what's making me chase them). So they'll have emails about that as well from people, needless to say I'm sure each email takes a while to respond to as they'll need to do investigations, I also doubt it is someones primary job to monitor that email box, just an added responsibility for a team.
Then they'll also have emails about car matching which will take time as well...

All that being said, generally I get a reply within a day. I haven't asked about 'car swapping/matching' yet, but should the "issues:eek:" im having continue, I will look into it as an option.

Can't see them listing them for anything other than today's Price. Why would they? These cars aren't sold now so they will surely be going for full price.
Because they were ordered when the price was lower, ford are losing nothing, by selling them at the price pre rise, otherwise they're waiting for someone to come along and buy that specific spec. The fact some people will 'change' their spec, or 'upspec' their car to something better to dodge the wait time, only means ford will make more money, quicker, and wont have a depreciating assett sat on their forecourts.
@Andy Barratt or j-rowe14 care to confirm whether or not the list price of the cars if someone was to switch to them is the same as what they were pre-rise early Jan, and also, if deposits can be transfered over. Thanks :)

These cars are being sold at list, the price is in the post above
j-rowe14, as a dealer what's the view of having to have the RHD loom issue sorted before delivery. Just don't want my one saying they won't release the car!

Your right they aren't loosing something, but they have 1500 quid to make on someone who walks in off the street and says "I want that one"
The customer isn't going to know or care when it was ordered.

Especially when you have Ford dealers such as Lifestyle in Tunbridge Wells with a registered car on the Forecourt at 45K!

The loom issue is an easy fix but important to be done before collection. It did take around 2 days to order the part though.

Thanks

Customer wont care, however, the customer will jump the queue essentially netting them a car before those that have had to wait, in theory ford should email those with specs like those cars they have, and starting with the most alike. If you email the [email protected] email you should theoretically be allowed to ask for >all< of the cars that are available and essentially just ask to buy that one instead, at the same 'list price' of when the car was ordered (Not current List).

In short, i'd be looking at other EB's if my car is still 'non-moving' soon.

That's a used car! At nearly 9k over current list. When they have a list of unsold, unregistered new ones. Dafuq?! as they say in Tunbridge Wells.
