I was driving into work this morning and was getting into the throttle hard. At the end of third gear the engine suddenly lost power. I pulled over and poked around under the hood and everything seemed attached etc. The car was idling fine.

So Since I didn't see anything bad or leaking, I continued on my way to work. While driving it, I found that the car was slow, but was running well. Here's the kicker.... I couldn't get more than 1 or 2 psi of boost!

I got to work, stayed for about an hour, got in to drive home. All by itself, things fixed themselves while the car was sitting. Everything seems like it should and I get my usual 11 psi.

What gives? I worried.

Thanks!!!!

Pull your codes and see if something is pending. If not, you might need to check your bypass valve and line to make sure it's not clogged or pinched

Exact same problem today.
Drove out making 8-10psi(4.00").
Got gas.
Couldnt make over 2-3 after.
Power cycled. Still same prob.
Bout to hook up laptop to check wtf.
Its not belt slip as even tip in is dialed back.
Its like throttle limiting or bypass not closing.
Disconnected bypass vac line and could cycle bypass by mouth

Had taken car into get AC evap core changed.
Set a my key and all the flight control.
Got car back and reset the flight control.
When I cleared all the limit by gear, i set everything back on including knock.

So just now turned knock limit off and all ok atm.

Eff this Texas pseudo gas crisis. Had to change from Chevron to Shell.

No codes pending or stored. MIL off. Must be bypass valve, yes?

Did yours fix itself all by itself? I've been driving on and off all day and the low boost condition has not returned.

Might need to log it and see what's up. It could be the BPV

How much safety am I giving up by doing that?

None! the knock logic is still operating as designed. Knock limiting is extra aggressive and used say if you had bad or low octane fuel.

Knock limiting is now off. Thanks!

I just can't get good gas around here. No matter where I buy my 93 (ethanol ridden) here on Long Island, I get KR. Especially at low RPMs. You can actually feel the car pulling timing.

I've tried Octanium and NOS octane boost. The NOS octane boost really makes a difference! NO KR. See a lot of negative KR numbers instead of positive. Tried it twice. Both times the car feels totally different.

NY and their mandated ethanol sucks!
