  1. Whipple car runs bad - tune issues

Thanks for that explanation. It makes perfect sense now and fits with my hesitation issue. Sounds like the anti-shuffle timing drop is a symptom not the cause.... John
  2. Whipple car runs bad - tune issues

Hey guys, I've had quite a few PMs asking for my tune file. I need to add this publicly: In no way am I an expert tuner. If you use the tune, it's at your own risk. While I believe what I did is safe, if you break something, well... I do not recommend just taking the file and...
  3. Whipple car runs bad - tune issues

There are two simple ways to do this... HP Tuners has a single lookup table for each of three modes: winter, sport and Normal. These tables allow you to specify how much throttle you want for any given pedal travel amount. In other words, pedal position in, remapped throttle position out...
  4. Whipple car runs bad - tune issues

It's not bad, but an expert it won't make you...
  5. Whipple car runs bad - tune issues

I'm the OP. After much effort starting with Whipple, then Lund without a resolution, I bought HP Tuners, the Coyote Cookbook tuning guide, and took a tuning course. There was a lot to learn about how the PCM works in the s550, and I still have more to learn. In any case, I believe I have...
  6. Normal boost graph

Need to see more of the graph... How many psi is the variation?
  7. Anyone with whipple regret leaving whipple tune for Lund or PBD?

Yup. Went with a Alex F. Lund tune. Kept it for only a few weeks then went back to the Whipple tune tweaked with HP Tuners... I do have to say, the Lund WOT was amazing. It was driveability that sent me back to the Whipple tune.
  8. Whipple car runs bad - tune issues

I just finished with Lund. I'm going back to the Whipple tune and will tweak using HP Tuners. What Alex at Lund came up with fixes the Whipple tune issues and runs like a beast at WOT. But the Lund tune adds a whole set of new issues: LT trims -16 to -18%, bad surging/bucking at 3000...
  9. Whipple car runs bad - tune issues

Sounds like you may be on to something. Is this TB or tune related? I am working with Lund now for a tune that works... John
  10. Stock Headers MAX Power w/ Blower

How's 693 sound? Close... And thru stock exhaust. J
  11. Whipple car runs bad - tune issues

You're right and I am looking into custom tunes. Can't decide between Lund or PBD. IN any case, I want to understand why my car behaves like it does to make sure any new tune I get isn't making an underlying problem.
  12. Whipple car runs bad - tune issues

Problem is it won't stay that way... My car was great for a few days after doing the same and then the issue slowly came back... It's like if you change anything, it get's better then slowly come back. My new MAF did same. Then issue slowly came back. It's as if whatever the PCM learns is...
  13. Whipple car runs bad - tune issues

She doesn't seem to be lugging. But it still does happen at higher RPMs. Things happen much quicker at higher RPMs and it's harder to get a stretch of data. In any case, I have another interesting clue. I hope Dustin or Will chimes in with an explanation. I turned off CHT and overload...
  14. Whipple car runs bad - tune issues

But why would this only happen at part throttle under boost? WOT no problem, part throttle no boost is OK as well. John
  15. Whipple car runs bad - tune issues

I just did a log with those PIDs as you suggested and saw nothing out of the ordinary. Thanks, John
  16. Whipple car runs bad - tune issues

Forscan for Android. Opened up the log file in Forscan for PC, saved it out as a .CSV and plotted it in Excel. John
