I changed out my rears to Super Sports 285/35/19 last month. I got to right at 12k with my rears. My pirelli fronts are still on there and scared me so bad the other day that they are coming off next very very soon.

How big is the improvement between the MPSS and stock pirelli's? I need tires soon and can't decide if I want to get wider wheels already or wait and just get MPSS for now.

I don't know about Super Sports, but I used AS/3s on 07 GT and they blew away the stock Pirelli's. Definitely heading that direction again when my tires give out.

There's a reason I call them suckadickrelli's, they're terrible imo and I got no idea why Ford uses them

As for the other point, curious as well
 Agreed glad I switched tires.

The Bridgestones on my Fiesta ST wore out just as fast. Their rate of wear is totally dependent on you really, I almost at 5k miles and have plenty of tread left.

There are a lot of factors

Your driving
alignment
road conditions
The tire itself

But generally on the Pirelli they wear out super fast in general.

Night and day difference. Let me put it like this, last week I raced another GT PP. Temps were high 40s low 50s. I pulled that guy a half a car every gear. He had stock pirellis and had a lot of tire chatter, loss of traction. I never lost traction once. I've yet to loose traction with these tires down to mid 30 degree weather. Not exaggerating here. I love these tires!

BTW I'm bone stock.

That's great to hear! How does the 285 fit on the 9.5" rim? Does it bulge?

It does sit perfect. I'd take a pic but we got a snow overnight. It's supposed to melt in a few hours though when it gets to 41 degrees. There are some pics on the forum though with that size. It's perfect for a 19x9.5 to 19x10 size.
