1000 miles in and my mpg is going down rather than up but I put that down to getting used to the car and enjoying it more.

480 miles into my ecoboost and I'm getting 28.8 on this tank.

Driving like a nun in traffic on the motorway tho atm.

Took these two pics at the same time. Thought it might be of use.

First one shows the trip computer's estimate of my fuel economy, which I'd calculated to be around 10% optimistic:

Second one is the specific fuel economy "gauge" which confirms my calculations and is pretty much spot on:

How is it the same computer can give two different readings?!

Anyways, at least I know now that one of them is accurate.

Is the second one not based on the total life of the car and the first based on the last reset?

Fairly sure the answer is no.

Trip computer 1 was reset at the second fill-up and left alone ever since. Trip computer 2 gets reset every fill.

However, you have now put the doubt in my mind so I'll be checking at the next fuel stop! :paddle:

I got 29.3 mpg on my way home from picking up my GT yesterday. Was taking it easy in the wet but was really impressed. :)

Now currently averaging 22.7 mpg today though...

3500 miles of country roads and A and M roads and showing 21mpg. Not taking it easy as my new friends the police can prove.

One M25 trip with the cruise set at 60 got me 35mpg. One cross London commute got me 11mpg.

I just did my second full-tank with the car, meaning I could calculate my MPG.

Trip computer said 19.

Actual? 17.7 :eyebulge:

That is hell of an inaccurate trip computer :S
