Anyone ever see what the actual numbers difference is with higher octane? Would be nice if someone could do a few pulls, dump 5gal of 100 in and see what happens on the rollers.
I've done a few pulls with 100 octane (or there abouts). Added Torco to 93 and the math suggests 100. My 17 no tune or mods made 489 at the rear wheel. As was pointed out, the pulls were done in 4th not 5th so I have been advised the numbers might be off a tad. I plan on doing some pulls with 93 but I have not had the time. This should establish a solid number gain. I can tell you the two tanks I ran with the Torco added to 93 felt stronger based on the seat of pants feel.

I eventually will go back to the same shop and do some pulls with 93.

Can a person use 100 octane without any tune or set up?
Yes! The ECU advances or retards timing accordingly. Most cars do not have that capability programmed in bu the GT350s's do. I would use actual race fuel as opposed to additives. My two cents!

DOH!!! I just realized your are in NYC. I grew up in Queens. Joined the military in 97 and never looked back. I don't know what I would do without the space I have or the roads I have access to. I could not own this type of car in NYC, HELL NO!

Yes, just make sure you don't use leaded gas.

Is this something that will be obvious if something happens and a warranty claim is made?
The issue is E85 cannot be ran safely in the motor without a tune. It takes more E85 per volume vs normal gas to make the same amount of energy. It's not as efficient. It's only benefit is the higher octane value and cost vs a race fuel.

76 in Saratoga and Laguna Seca in Monterey have unleaded race fuel. Not sure of prices.

I have a tune for it, i was just wondering if an engine went boom they'd be checking the fuel...and by the way they fly the engineer to the voodoo in some instances I'd say I'd be up poo creek:cheers:

If the engine goes boom it won't matter to them what fuel you used, They will be looking at the Tune you put on the car.

So, could I use 100 octane (unleaded) in my GT without any issues?

Would like to see if there is a difference in performance?
