You could give it a shot with the adjustable low level inputs. I know people have tried the LOC's with the stock sub with no joy.

I may just have to use the aftermarket amp that I have, but not sure it's compatible with the factory subwoofer.

I didn't even realize this amp has high level inputs. That's a plus, but does anyone make an adjustment knob that I can use to increase or decrease the sub output from the driver seat? Also, what is the resistance of the shaker sub? This amp is only recommended bridged @ 4 ohms. It can do stereo @ 2 ohms, but would that work or even sound good?

Stock sub is dual 2 ohm voice coils.
A 2 channel amp would work perfectly.

So, just wire the amp in stereo then?
What about an adjustment knob? I don't even know what to call it.

Yup, just wire it like a pair of speakers.
The only adjustment would be the gain knob on the amp.

Upon recommendation of the topic starter, placed JL audio 10W3 Sub and KST25 tweeters. Such a HUGE difference for under 500 dollar investment.

Thinking of trading in my 10W3 for 10W6 or should i go for 12W6...i have the JX500/1d amp though. Also I used a LOC, but since i have a premium car, mine should have the RCA level inputs in the wiring harness going to car stock amp, would it be huge difference if i use those instead. They supposed to be pure signal compared to the heavy modified signal i am tapping into right now.

Ok, finally completed the upgrade to my upgrade.
I already have the Rockford Subwoofer in the stock enclosure and was fairly happy running off the stock amp. But, I can't leave well enough alone.
Keeping the sub and stock enclosure, I added an amp.
Here is what I needed:

Total cost was $300 all from Crutchfield.
High level RCA posi-tapped into the rear speakers

Ran a cable from the battery, remote level adjuster, and remote turn on up the passenger side. Then wired it all up.

The sound is fantastic, especially since I can crank up the bass on siriusxm.
Downside is now I have to chase some new rattles from th increased bass.

And for anyone trying this, the turn on lead for the factory amp will not work, it is a 6 volt turn on signal and will not work on a new amp.

Awesome! Did you use any batting in the enclosure?
