I also had subframe connectors on my 98 SS. Damn those cars needed it bad though.

First time seeing those convertible factory braces. Those look to do almost exactly what Steeda's braces do except yours tie into 4 bolts at the front instead of just 2 on the Steedas.

Gonna order some jacking rails on black friday. Already have the g-trac brace and subframe braces

Me too on the braces. I think I need a Steeda sign for my garage and when I go to shows.

the rear bolt holes of the jacking rails have to share the some two bolt holes on each side as the front edge of the factory subframe brace

the bracket of the jacking rail would have to go between the body of the car and the factory subframe brace. The subframe brace has a rolled lip on each side about 1/3" deep. This lip is what's keeping the bracket of the jacking rail from sliding over far enough to line up with the same holes the factory subframe brace uses.

If you put the jacking rail brace on top of the factory subframe brace you'd need a longer bolt and the force of jacking up the car might squish the lip on the factory subframe brace or deform the brackets of the jacking rails

The bolt area in question is here. In fastbacks those two forward bolt locations are not used

More pictures in my album but this is my honest experience.

-------------------------

An aside, I think there's a market for subframe bracing for convertibles that would replace the convertible factory subframe bracing. I like the looks of the tubular design of the bracing for the fastbacks http://www.steeda.com/steeda-s550-mustang-rear-irs-subframe-brace-2015-coupe-555-5754/
So no word yet from Steeda to confirm the rails do not work with our convertible's sub frame brace, right?

Your results may differ but the rear most bolt holes didn't line up for me

Has anyone successfuly mounted these to a convertible w/o modifying something? MM, to your knowledge, are you the only convertible owner to have attempted mounting the Steeda's (on this thread)? I'm guessing that the crickets sound from Dave at Steeda is not a good sign.

In order to use these with a convertible, you would simply have to open up the hole in the factory brace so the jacking rails will fit.

David, are there any plans to make a front to back subframe brace?

Know what? That there are plans or that you have one and would like me to test it?[emoji2]

David,
Would the jacking rail be mounted between the OEM convertible brace and the frame, or below it?
How long is the actual jacking surface area.
Thanks

Update: I couldn't get the holes to line up even though I slipped the jacking rail between the chassis and the factory bracing.

They were close but would take drilling new holes to make them fit

Going to send them back for now.

Thanks David for the help

MM,
I am confused from this pic. Looks like jaccking rail is between frame and the OEM 'vert subframe. Is that correct? "IF" the holes in the car's frame 'are' directly under the OEM 'vert frame holes (but just can't be seen because those holes are covered by the jacking frame above them, then it would be the jacking frame holes that would need to be redrilled or majorly gouged out, correct, not the 'vert subframe holes?

David's comment to redrill the OEM 'vert subframe holes don't seem to fit with what this picture shows, but I could be misunderstanding something here.

It would mount in between the frame and convertible brace, as mentioned some modification of the factory convertible brace may be required to make it work.

Also, the jacking surface area 34.5 inches.
