So yesterday I installed both short shifter and aluminum driveshaft on my 2016 Mustang GT. I followed the directions, videos and experience from installing short shift kits previously. But I'm still having a lot of undercarriage noise. Has anybody had the same issue. I thought it was the something might be loose but I triple checked everything. So now I'm thinking is just the sound coming from driveshaft.

Klunk and metal on metal noise? I'm thinking it the shifter.

It's normal. David has addressed that there will some NVH(noise) upon the installation of the tri-ax

I can't comment on the possible noise coming from your DS but you will get a bit of noise coming from the Tri-Ax. Installed mine this past Friday, installed the dyna-mat but still can hear noise coming from the shifter area. Doesn't bother me at all, kinda goes along with the Muscle car feel IMO.

Sorry, this is the noise I get when I engage the clutch. I'm hoping it's the steeda tri ax and not the driveshaft.

Definitely the driveshaft. This is a characteristic of hollow aluminum driveshaft.

Just make sure the drive shaft bolts are tight, you should be just fine.

I kept my stock shaft in, for that same reason to much clanking.

Hope this helps.

To 2nd this ... I ran the video by our install dept. & engineering team - the sound that you provided does not appear to be a characteristic of the Steeda Tri-Ax.

Best Regards,

TJ

Thanks for the info. I'll remove the driveshaft while I'm instilling my steeda springs this weekend. And all bolts were tightened to spec.

Removed the aftermarket driveshaft and the sound is almost completely gone. I'm going to wait until I change out the transmission fluid before I decided to take it to the dealer.
