I would like to test it with just tires as well, but I am concerned the extra traction would make the, less then optimal dampeners, get over worked.

I would agree, but to what extent would be interesting. The S197 dampers are overworked even with stock tires IMO so it would highlight the improvements Ford made to the S550.

And while I am there, might as well start on my Hi-flow grill.

Terry doesn't drive it any harder then I do, and I had already done 3 race sessions and two teaching sessions. Plus he knows the "if you break it, you buy it" rule! :)

And thanks for putting up the link, I got bogged down at the shop and forgot.
It's great to see a real-world evaluation of what exactly Ford's newest Mustang is capable of. That car sure didn't seem like the pitchy, wallowy beast one publication made it out to be.......

Great video! Terry seems genuinely blown away by the new platform.

The embedded video kept freezing up my browser so I did a search and found it on YT for anyone else who couldn't watch it.

Sock, what are your plans for the grill? Really interested.

First thing we did was weigh the car. With 3/4 tank of fuel it scaled at 3726! A bit on the plump side, but not as bad as we thought.. So it will be sub 3700 with 1/4 tank of fuel for racing without any weight reduction.
This made me very happy. You have the exact car as mine. Maybe mine's lighter because the flake is smaller in the Guard than the Magnetic ;) ...or was until the dealer decided to re-clear my 1/4 without my permission :frusty:

Just wheels, exhaust and rear seat delete will get it real close to 3600. Aluminum hats and coil overs should help too. Not so "BEEFY" after all.

Will be interesting to see if the GT350 front end parts are reasonably priced and how they work as upgrades for the 2015 for weight reduction and width.

For the high-flow grill, did you just cut out the honeycomb from a stock GT, just curious! I was tempted to do the same thing

Yes. I am using the stock grill for the prototype. There is a fairly obvious cut line on the back of the grill, but it requires a steady hand!

That is the plan. I just have to get the prototype looking the way I want before we make a production version.

brake cooling

Are you going to be doing any brake cooling ducts through the fog light holes, or is there another hole for ducting?
