Just replaced my non-hp front tires with new PS4s. Got 20k miles out of them but really should have replaced them at about 17K from the looks of the inside tread being nearly non-existent. Taking in for an alignment later this week but not sure how much that will change the wear pattern. Been thinking of moving to a square set. Any recommendations? I want to keep the look of the current rims. Would it be best to buy two more fronts (the 9.5") or backs (10")? Has anyone got a great looking example. I'm thinking 295/35/19 looks like a good size. Would spacers be necessary? Trying to keep it simple and attractive. Probably not going to be tracking it anytime soon. Thanks in advance.

Just use 275 all the way around. I don't recall the offset of the 10" but if it's between 35 and 42 you can use them up front no problem.

And since the 80's it's been hip to be square. So yes.

Oem rear 10" wheels have offset 52.5 mm, I don't think that's usable in the front, these 9.5" have offset 40 mm. Maybe it'll still fit, you can try.

I have 19x10 with 285/35/19 PS4S and much prefer the look over PP1 staggered. The tire fender gap is a bit larger with the smaller diameter tire. My plan is to go to FP track springs, shocks, and bars and that will lower the car slightly. I prefer to lower as little as possible since I drive the car on the street as well.

Front inside wear is a toe problem unless you're running tons of front camber which I don't get the sense you are.

I have both a 20x10 (Project 6GR Tens) and 19x10 (Apex EC-7) squared setup. The 20’s are my street setup with 285/35/20 PS4S. The 19’s are my track setup with 285/35/19 Nitto NT01.

I‘m lowered on Eibach Pro-Kit lowering springs. I like the wheel gap and stance of the 20’s, the 19’s look good as well but a little too much wheel gap for me for daily use. Track wise they’re perfect.

At some point I may be tempted to look into a set of lighter wheels for one or both of my Machs. Obviously that would be the time to consider going square, getting wider wheels or bigger tires, etc.

Then, the next time I drive one of my [never tracked but street-driven pretty hard] Mach 1s I question my sanity for considering changing anything. My stock non-HP cars drive beautifully on the street the way I drive them even when pushed. Do I really want to mess around with the engineer’s carefully designed setup and throw myself into all the issues that wii arise in this thread?

I don’t know. I guess it just depends on what one’s vision is for his own car.

Me personally I picked up a pair of used square 19x11 rims and will be running Atturo 305/30r19 tires. Do NOT do this if you aren’t going to mitigate the poke.

I needed to do the following on my non-hp M1:
  1. Extended studs up front
  2. 1in spacer for front wheels
  3. camber/caster plates
  4. Rear HP/GT500 mud flaps/rock deflectors, handling pack front wheel lip
You can also upgrade springs and sprays while you’re at it.

I'm going square for the "winter". I live in CA so winter is sort of weak as winters go, unless I drive to Reno or something, in which case I would take my Explorer ST.
I'm putting 4ea. 285/35ZR19 Continental EXTREMECONTACT SPORT 02 tires on these:
