Shelby Transmission Cooler Scoop Update!!!

Been there and done that with the Shelby Scoop. If the ambient is above 70 and you are pushing hard, you will hit limp mode. If not on the first run, then on the 2nd. Too much heat soak in these non-cooled transmissions. Coolers are the only real option. I installed my new transmission and cooler a couple weeks ago and I'm not looking back.

That being said, I have a Shelby Scoop and I'll give it to he first person who will cover the packing and shipping. I'm in Houston if you wanna arrange a pickup. PM if interested.

How Long did it take for your cooler to come in? ordered mine from LMR weeks ago still no tracking number?

I waited (too long) to see if Ford would come out with the coolers referred to in the owners supplement. I got my car very early (Nov 15), so it was a long time to wait and didn't even bother to track it after hearing the limp mode issues. I did however hit limp mode during spirited driving in the country. Anyway, I requested permission to purchase the transmission and cooler from Ford Performance on 1/10/17. Received permission on 1/31/17. Purchased from AutoNation White Bear Lake on 1/31/17. Received Transmission 3/16/17. Received Cooler parts 4/13/17. I installed myself, total cost of parts: $3,283.50.

From what I understand is you can buy the cooler parts without permission from Ford Performance, but to get the transmission you must get FP to give you the green light.

I ordered the version 2 of the scoop last week from shelby, will post picture tonight.
version 2 is more "solid" than version 1, and looks a bit different.

using forscan i was able to see the trans temp so I will be able to know exactly how effective this scoop is.
