Real sorry to see this, but pleased to hear you both OK, as others have said I think that's a right off, but at least the safety features did their job

Yep I'm pretty sure it's a write off too. The dent on the roof is from the tree we went through.

Amazed anyone walked away from that unscathed, glad you both did, just amazed!

Big lump of metal, there are thousands of them, on the flip side, is it right that you'd get the full price of it back because it's under a year old? Hope this is the case

Thank god, you are both safe, that is pretty scary. I have just come back from 3 days in Weymouth with loads of 1 lane roads, and overtaking tractors on dirty wet roads.
I admire you for posting up these pics, must be heartbraking for you
When I done my overtaking did not even think about the back sliding or if there was any danger, drive her as I did the S197. And with my LHD I need to hang back further and then really hit the pedal.
I have the AS tires, which they only put on the Yank California Special. touch wood, have never in 2000 miles felt any slide. And I also had to shoot out of roundabouts at speed, but you just do, don't think you will lose the car
I take it you had the standard tires on her?

Crumple zone did exactly what it was designed to do!

Good to hear that you were both fine but one helluva shock when the airbags deployed...

As deep south says, it did its job. Cars are now designed to disintegrate to disperse the impact - often making the crash look far worse than it was (and, no I'm not trying to say it wasn't bad!). If you'd done that in a car built 30 years ago it might have looked nasty, but you might not be here. Good car!

Oh, man, sorry to see this. Glad you are both OK. Did all the air bags go off?

I think wet mode is an underrated feature, especially on the auto.

on the positives, you can probably buy a 2018 if you put the deposit down in december.... that's all assuming you're not put off the car
also i'm glad both you and your boy are okay, looks like a proper nasty crash, but looks like the bonnet too the brunt of the damage, hey, who thinks that long bonnet is stupid now?!

IF you need anything mate give me a shout, happy to help out :).

p.s im shooting for a write off too :(
Salvage whatever you can from it if possible might be something worth the odd quid. (mod wise or otherwise)

Glad you're both OK - as you say, the safety features work !

Makes me a little nervous for the Winter. Wearing PZeros and wet / greasy roads don't fill me with confidence. May have to change the tyres soon.

Did you make that S shaped track in the field behind the car after coming through the hedge or is that just coincidence?

I think he was on Michelins..... either way, when something unexpected happens, it doesn't much matter what brand of tyre is on the car:(
