That's why I'd spec the spare to match the rear tire size rather than the front
If you look at one of the last links I sent, Torsen says you can actually get pretty crazy with the difference in tire size, way more than I was thinking of, and it won't damage the diff.

This obviously would not apply to the clutch type LSDs in non PP cars.

I guess imgur doesn't allow embedding now, here is my new 17 GT w/PP in Ingot Silver:
My only issue with the PP wheels.

Weight
Bitch to clean.

Weight maybe, but I was able to wipe the brake dust off pretty easily. Could be worse, they could be matte finished. My friend's factory Hellcat wheels were matte black and pretty hard to keep clean. I've found gloss black wheels easy to live with in general, my last "fun" car had them as well.

Need4SpeedMotors, any progress on your spare tire?

There is money to be made here. I will buy a spare tire kit the minute someone starts selling one for the GT PP.

Well the spare opening looks about 27 inches diameter and about 7 inches max height. Hard to find a 19 inch wheel for spare tires but some part of me wants to try the wheels from a BMW i3.
175/60R19, no idea offset. problem is 86 load rating is 1165 lbs, our PP tires are 100 rating > 1700lbs.
Or a conti CST 17 at 155/60R18.
Anyone want to make a special 18x5 rim that fits over six pot brembos! Yuge market I know.
Last option maybe to modify the trunk floor to accept a 19x8 with like a 225/40R19. not sure which is more fun, spares or winters...:|

Better yet, Yokohama makes an ADVAN in 225/45R19 96Y XL.

A normal GT has a 98 load A/S tire.
Says its mounts on a 7" wheel.
You might just be able to make this fit with the stock floor.

Still not as silly as a i3 wheels would look, too bad the bolt pattern is 5x112, and too bad it would be properly unsafe.

i3 wheels are 5x112 bolt pattern, ours is 5x114.3. I like your thought process though.

Be very careful when comparing SL tires against XL tires. The load vs inflation tables are not the same, so cannot compare them directly. Worse yet the differences between the tables are probably not what you expect.

A 96 load index tire with an XL load rating is comparable to a 92 load index tire in SL rating up to the SL's maximum tabulated inflation pressure of 36 psi. XL tires continue to gain load rating as inflation is increased up to the XL table max of 42 psi.

I have the SL and XL tables, but not the tables that would apply to temporary/compact spares (M?).

FWIW, I keep finding 97 for the OE GT size.
