I've been researching the new Mustang the last few days and finally got to drive one. It was an Ecoboost Premium with 20's, Nav, and a few other bells and whistles but it was the 3.15 rear end. Guard in color which was and still is my first choice although i want to see the Silver too. The sales guy let me put it in Track mode with TC off and that really woke it up from Normal mode.

The engine was torquey and revved well, sound was better than my 2.0T Cadillac ATS for sure. The 6 speed auto shifts well and the paddles were quite responsive, not DSG like but better than i expected. The interior was really nice, i don't think i could get a Base now but i will look at one with Recaro's if i can find one to check out in person.

Ride and Handling: This is a very important part of my decision and the car rides very well even with the 20's. I have 19's on my car with 245/35's and ride quality was fairly comparable. The Mustang feels a little heavier than my ATS but its not really a bad thing, just different i'm sure i would get used to it.

The 2015 VW GTI that i'm also considering is a very different car and has the lighter nimble feeling that i like and just inspires a lot of confidence to push it harder. I'm looking forward to some seat time in an Ecoboost Performance Pack car to see if those changes put it at the top of my list. I don't have much experience driving older Mustangs but this one is quite nice. Ford has done a nice job and the car has loads of potential.

Edit: sorry about the picture quality, it was almost dark and my phone didn't do a very good job at showing how nice the car looks in person.
When i was driving off i kept looking back at it.

The 20s with 3:15 rear gear had to slow it down a hair.
Definitely think the PP will give it the extra bump it needs, for a while anyways and then the tune and bolt on's would come down the road.

While i was really set on getting the GTI there is just no comparison when it comes to looks. I prefer the VW interior and practicality but for the driving i will be doing the Mustang is probably the better choice.

Love those wheels. Hopefully I will be able to find a dealer that would flex a little bit and allow those on a PP

I plan to get the PP wheels repainted(powdercoated) to a gunmetal or hyperblack finish and use them for winter. Get some 20's like the TSW Bathurst or Portier for summers.

Other possibility is sell the PP wheels and get the Bathurst's in 19" and put some mild lowering springs on it. The 20's just look right though and the tire prices are probably about the same, maybe even cheaper for 20".
