I guess the only Michelin 4S tire size option for the stock wheels would be the 295/30 and 305/30, right? It stinks they don't come in the exact size (295/35 and 305/35). I'm interested in the 4S once the PSS wear out but I don't want to through off the speedometer.

It's barely off. I run 30s on my car and can't hardly tell.

Also you gain the advantage of slightly higher gear ration such as the R.

AND if you're worried you can change the forscan data to reflect the 30 series tires, like the R.

There is a setting in FORSCAN to change the speedometer calibration based on tire size, and the 325's are in one of the available option settings.

Sorry, that was me. I knew you wanted to talk and we took a very quick look for you to no avail. I promised the wife I'd get home, so I had to run.

Regarding the MP4S tires. So far, I like them. They got rid of the tram-lining of the PS2C's. I also don't notice any road noise. Unfortunately, I've only had them on for a few hundred miles, so I don't have a whole lot of experience with them. They seem to handle great for street tires.

I work in Santa Clara, so if you're nearby, I could bring the 350R to work (I never do that), and you can ride on the tires and see if you like them.
Thanks for the offer, I'm going ahead and pulling the trigger on the tires once I decide which wheels I get.

Reviving an old topic. Can I use 305 square tires with the stock wheels? I was thinking about a second set of wheels and tires for track use, but that's a significant added expense. I'd rather just upgrade to the PS4S and use a square setup if that's possible. I haven't been thrilled with the wet weather performance of the PSS tires.

Would 305/30R19 102Y XL fit in all four corners?

The short answer is yes. Michelin rates the PS4S to be mounted on rims from 10.5 to 11.5 width, so the stock rims are fine. It's the same tire/rim width combo that comes on the PP2 Mustang GT.

Good to hear. I did notice that the stock rears are 104Y, though. Is mounting a lower load tire in the rear a huge concern?

The GT350 OEM MPSS is a 100Y front and 102Y rear with 7.5/32nd front tread depth and 8/32 rear.

Hmmm...I just checked again and you're right. I don't know why I thought it was 104. Thanks again! I'll probably swap them out later this year

How big of a difference would these make in a launch? For example going from all season to 4S could you wipe off half a second from a 0-60 time?

If switching to MPS4S from the OEM MPSS on stock (non-R) wheels, what are the pros and cons to going with 295-30 front and 305-30 rear versus 305-30 all around? Seems like the most common choice here has been 305 all around, but if not rotating tires around then I guess I just don’t understand why not to go with the tire widths that match up more correctly to the wheel widths (i.e., staggered).

The way I see it, if I'm changing the aspect ratio, then width might as well be fair game. In particular, getting a bit more rubber in the front should reduce understeer a bit (no idea how much). I do take it to the track once or twice a year, so I'd like to see what it does. The GT350R has 305 fronts, so let's try it out and see what we get.
