Does anyone know where to get hold of a Magnaflow Tru-X (resonated) X-pipe....?

Ive fitted a Ford Racing X-pipe to the car, and in combo with my Roush axle backs the noise is too much.

I love it, but 5am cold-starts are plain anti-social, and full bore accelerations (literally) make children cry and old people nearly fall over. As hilarious as that is, the noise is somewhat overbearing.

US based members on here have recommended a Magnaflow Tru-X X pipe as a happy compromise, so does anyone know where to get hold of one of the buggers!?!

:)

I don't think anyone in the UK will stock one of those, Guy from Nemesis Mustang could get you one, but it may be cheaper for you to get it direct from the States. As another compromise, Guy stocks the Borla resonator.

As far as I understand, the Borla resonator isnt an X pipe though, is that correct?

Im even having trouble finding a US stockist. CJPP and AM are no joy.

True, it's really a H pipe but it would be louder than the stock resonator but quiter than an X pipe.
Interesting, didnt realise it was a H pipe.

Ive found the Magnaflow via Summit Racing.

Try profusionexhausts.com UK MagnaFlow stockists and significantly cheaper than anyone else for my street cat back.

Except it's silenced/resonated, which is what I need :)

that's my point on google is looks like a regular x pipe with no resonators - just metal welded into an x

i think they made one for the s197 but not seen one for 2015

sure looks interesting

Just replied to your PM kapiteinlangzaam

What I believe Alex is referring to is the Magnaflow Dual Muffler that has a perforated X-Pipe in the centre of it.

http://www.magnaflow.com/products?partNumber=11386&searchTerm=11386

This is only a universal muffler and it should be possible to fabricate it in place using the OE pipe work from replacing with the Ford Racing X-Pipe.

The other option is the Borla System Resonator. This is has an internal perforated H-Pipe and is a longer muffler. The front section will sleeve straight up but is designed to work with Borla cat-back system so again modification will be required to join the ends together unless you could sleeve clamp it and butt the two ends together?

Below is a picture of the two parts for you to get an idea.

Thanks for the pics.... v useful.

Im just waiting on a US based member who uses this setup to reply to me about how much fabrication it was to get it all installed.

If a positive answer is forthcoming, ill be ordering the Magnaflow unit :)

Ive ordered the Magnaflow unit from Guy @ Nemesis :)

It should be here when I return from holiday.

In case anyone reads this with a similar dilemma in the future - SOLO performance were also happy to sell me just their resonated X-pipe @ $325 .... worth knowing :
