Looked at new Corvettes

Yesterday I stopped at a Chevy dealer and checked out a couple. One white and one blue. I am absolutely amazed that Chevy can put out a car with a body that is that bad. And this is on a car that costs more than twice as much as my Mustang. I walked the light on both of those cars. They are so uneven and rippled it looks like someone carved them out of a mud pile with a butter knife. If you can stomach it, stop by a Chevy dealer and check it out. It truly is amazing.

I feel like only recently cars have started to have fitment/body quality issues... am I wrong? I have never had an issue with the numerous cars I've had before.

I don't know. I have no complaints about my Mustang. The Corvette has been around for how many decades now? I figured they would have gotten it right by now. Well they didn't. It truly is something to see.

Hit and miss on Vettes, and Stangs.....some are pretty good to almost perfect,
Others horrible fitment and paint quality. My neighbors $130K Benz S class has as
much light orange peel as my Stang....

I will say that Porsches I have seen are pretty consistent in quality, even
some new Ferrari are not the greatest either....

I went over to a detailer in town to get prices on getting Ceramic Pro put on mine recently, and he said the same thing. Several high end cars go in there for various work to be performed, and many of the manufacturers factory paint jobs/body panels aren't so great. He did actually say the Porsche's usually look pretty good, and there was one sitting there when I got there. With having that HUGE Manheim Auto Auction in town, he gets loads of work because he does a top shelf job.

The problem is with the fiberglass. Maybe two hundred gallons of paint and a bunch of pygmys with sand paper could get it flat.

It is plastic, no longer fiberglass, has been for many years.......

The annual big Vette show in San Diego is called plastic fantastic

They called it carbon plastic on mine.

It's a little odd that my mom's 99 Mercedes ML500 has a better black finish that my mustang does and it was made in Mexico.
