livelink interpolation toggle changes knock reading?

So this morning i was running a long data log. a basic 40 minute drive into work. I had one knock spike on the data log +5. this was the part of my drive that was slightly bumpy, and my new exhaust system may be banging something, not sure. BUT anyway i noticed when i toggle interpolation on and off in livelink. The knock spike goes away but nothing else changes much if at all. I don't really understand the features of live link yet so any insight to this would be appreciated. screen shots below.

you can see the fast knock spike to the left, other than that spike my knock stays pretty smooth and only goes negative at times. My guess for now is false knock till i can do more logs. my curiosity is more about the livelink features function

for reference this is a flex tune atm

Interpolate can smooth out spikes in a graph, depends on what they are doing with the data
