Just installed my Barton shifter

This is going to take some getting use to! Had an issue with the bushings being too tight and the linkage locking up when the bottom plate was tightened down. Had to open it up some with a round file. But 1-4 is really close and 5-6 are spaced like stock.
Almost scary going from 2-3 and 3-4 feels like I'm almost heading back to 2nd gear. Only drove it about 3 miles after installing. I'll get more stick time tomorrow.

I installed the older style Barton recently. It's a bit stiff when you first install it but loosens up after a few hundred miles. The stiffer springs help center the shaft a lot so it's difficult to go from 3rd to 2nd on accident. Don't try to force it in 4th gear. You should be able to use 2 fingers going from 3rd to 4th.
