Hi all, thanks for your replies, I appreciate it. To those who havent had their PSA number checked yet, it can be done with a simple blood check, if you dont want your doc sticking his finger in your rear. get your PSA checked. Then if the PSA number is high, then you can go with with the doc doing his thing. I didnt really want to turn this into a cancer thing on this forum, but I saw a really high amount of people who are thinking about it. Please dont think about it, at least get the blood check. Mine unfortunately has spread to where it cant be stopped and the cancer has spread to my bones. I try to consider myself to be a private guy, but If I can help someone avoid what Im going through, then great. Back when, about 5 1/2 years ago, I had a lifespan of about 3 to 5 years. Well, I'm past the 5 year mark and guess what, its about time. Docs are treating me me now like I have about less than 6m. to go. Just started hospice, the Chemo and Immunotherapy treatments are done, not working anymore, and now its on to pain management, which isnt working very well. The cancer and bone pain are very painful, cant hardly walk. Anyway, go get the bloodwork done and wish you all well. Dont let this ruin your sunday. Going out to lunch in my buddys 66 VW bus and hoping for a good day!!!

I’m 50 and getting a blood test for prostate cancer is the last thing on my mind among all the other little ultimately unimportant things I need to get done. No more…I’m going to get tested within the next two months. Here’s one person you have made a definite and specific difference to by deciding to post.

Good karma your way. Have a great lunch with your buddy and his 66 VW!

Jim, I hope you get to spend quality time with the ones you care about in the months ahead. Obviously the Mustang is immaterial at this stage and its obvious you got to enjoy it on your journey. I wish you well, with thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

Godspeed Jim, and thank you for sharing your story. I hope your remaining days are many and joyful. Personally, I'm OK - but some odd numbers in a routine check-up 2 years ago revealed a non-Hodgkins lymphoma for my wife. Luckily the prognosis was good and she's a fighter, so we're coming out the other side. But without it we might not have known until it was much worse or too late.

For everybody else, this is preventive maintenance for you and your loved ones. You wouldn't go 5k over on an oil change, but somehow skipping (in my case) over a decade of regular checkups seemed fine. It just isn't tho. Not much aftermarket or OE replacements for people. Sucks not being invincible any more.

I just had my latest prostate checkup and all is fine at the moment but finally succumbed to taking meds to make a visit to the loo easier. I had a quintuple bypass in January after out of the blue chest pains, i didn't go straight away but had a couple more less intense spasms , saw my doctor , saw a specialist and within 24 hours was in for a 9 hour operation. I am well, back at work, and thanking the surgeon for every day i am here enjoying my mustang, my kids and grandkids.
Take his advice if you're over 50 get annual checks for your prostate and take my advice if you have chest pains however minor get it checked and don't pass it off. We need you guys on here to share and enjoy our passion for Fords. Stay well.

Your strength is inspiring, as is your attitude, I understand you have other priorities, but hopefully you still have time to participate in this forum. Our thoughts are with you and your family, thanks for sharing, and encouraging others to take precautions and stay healthy.

Thanks all for keeping me company while I had my Cal Special. I had it for about 3 and a half years and learned a lot and also helped others a lot. Had to sell it due to medical issues, have been fighting stage 4 cancer for about 5 and a half years and its not looking good. Wife decided to keep my Tacoma for the dog and yardwork and sold it to a nice young guy. I got a Vroom offer of 32700 and sold it to him for that. I paid 29 for the CS so besides mods, made money. With mods, broke about even, but its not always about the money. Anyway, good luck to you all and wish you all good health. By the way, go get your prostate checked, it may save your life!!! I wish I did, anyway,

I'm 55 and have a prostate exam every year for the last 10 or so years. Got my Cologuard done last year too. My dad died from Melanoma about 25 years ago, after having it for 17 years. I attribute that to the fact that he owned a Chrome plating shop for 35 years. I hope you see many more years.
