Is there a setting that locks the unit into day or night mode? I never want to see that ugly day mode of sync 3.... Haha

Yep, needs pre amp outputs. Even then $500 is still crazy for what it is.

Won't have those unfortunately. I can assure you one won't ever come out with that and everything else for under $500.

Anyways, Moddiction, for those of us who are developers. Will this possibly be a platform that is opened up to people making apps and the like? Seems you have control over how this works and such.

If you could take this LCD and Platform and port it to other vehicles, and then allow developers to make apps. You might be on the verge of something amazing.

I believe they will look stock. Haven't seen any changes in that except for ppl doing the MFT swap.

It does not. Has a dvr input but not the rca outputs unfortunately. I don't think any of the units are going to have that.

Seems like a huge feature missing and yet one that would add only a few dollars to the manufacturing cost. Give people that want to upgrade the entire stereo a clean signal to work with.

from what I understand, there's been like three different chineese units available.

- the base TomTop unit. no chrome and the screen doesn't sit flush
- one similar to the base, but with chrome trim, and the screen sits flush
- one like the one previously mentioned, but also has chrome toggles (but the toggles function as push-buttons)

so this one will be like the "mid-grade" one?
