Hill start assist may seem pointless in the UK, because it is mostly flat, but I bet people living in hilly cities in continental Europe would beg to differ. Yes, you can use your handbrake, but if you have to use it on every other junction, on a daily basis, I guess it gets rather annoying after a while.
Mostly flat?

I'm the opposite - I love all of that.

However, leave the steering, acceleration, braking and gear changing to me (although I do like the idea of Audi's traffic jam assist - braking, acceleration and auto steering in heavy traffic only).
Me too, gimme the gadgets! :headbang:

Ha ha. I didn't know we had hill assist until I saw this thread:doh:. Our drive is like the north face of the Eiger so this will be really useful, especially for the missus who already needs two hands to release the handbrake because it has to be pulled up so tight. Now where's that handbook! :)
Yes your drive is a tad worrying, as you know I was to scared to park my car on it in case it rolled in to your living room, hey and I need to hands as well.

Hill start assist is something I am unlikely to need living next to the fens but good to know it is there for when u travel lol. I quite like it as a feature.

I am getting a warning error on the center dashboard display that states: "Hill start assist not available". Dunno what is the source of the problem....
Just to test, I stopped and started the engine a couple of times during this afternoon, and also tried to switch fully off the ESC and TC completely, but the error persists.

Any clue before taking it to the dealer??

Beemers and Subarus, but until the wife's Qashqai last year had never had auto-wipers :)

Most of us can. But there are a lot of people that will still not switch their headlights on in torrential rain.
That used to be me... DRLs are lights... right... Only would turn headlights on in the dark/no vision/lack of vision/obscured vision

Now my Mustang does it for me.

I did turn my wipers on btw :)
