Those stripes look matte black to me. It looks like they reflect with camera flash or in certain lighting. Can someone who saw this in person confirm? I'm wanting to put these on my Black GTPP.

leaked order guide shows only white, Blue or black stripe on the Black GT350R, so they must be black

I'm not sure what you mean by clear coated stripes but if they are it isn't the same clear coat shell as the paint.

I took the stripes off my GT500 myself and they were not under a clear coat. It was definitely vinyl over a clear coated paint.
I've heard bad things about the durability of the vinyl stripes. Since you took them off your GT500, can I assume they were starting to deteriorate?

Based on your experience with your GT500, would you recommend I buy a GT350 with stripes from Ford or go aftermarket for the stripes?

Any other feedback you care to share? I have a gravel driveway and plan to drive the car in the winter, so it gets washed a lot and I probably pick up more scratches and minor dings than most people.

Just my 2 cents. If you like the appearance of stripes, go ahead and get them from the factory. The stripes on my 2008 Shelby are very well fitted and high quality IMO. I can't really give great insight on the durability as a DD since mine has lived a rather sheltered life, but if they do start to show some wear, they are not that difficult to remove (many have done this). I'm sure there are several shops that could fit your car with quality replacements, or you could even pursue having stripes painted on at that time.

I peeled the stripes off the day after I bought it so I can't speak to the durability.

One of the main stripes on the hood had a chip missing and another part was bubbling when I bought it with 10 miles on the odo. I didn't complain because I knew they were going in the trash anyway.

You could always ask around on a forum that caters more to the GT500 crowd or go troll some used lots that have mustangs with factory stripes installed and get a feel for how they hold up. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Wow, that's bad. Definitely not my experience.
And I will also say that in the same area two sections of stripe tape on both the over the top stripes had been overlapped by a quarter inch or so to where it was double thick and very noticable. I almost wonder if a back lot detail went wrong at the dealer and they replaced a couple of feet of stripe on their own.

It was definitely an aspect of the car I was pretty disappointed in. Looked very cheap hence the removal. I'm not much one for stripes anyway.

Moral of the story is I don't think a person would lose quality going to a specialist.

The stripes come with 3/36k warranty.

My 07 is 8 years old with 50000 miles, stripes have held up well with no issues....Do not drive in winter. Have replaced a couple due to accident. I use hand, touchfree and soft touch washes.

Yes. The stripes were applied and then the car was cleared. That's exactly what I was getting at.

Mine either. I had an 09, 11, 13 and a 14. The stripes were nice on all of them.
