Why is this so difficult? Always wanted orange but that darn Avalanche really grew on me. I think Avalanche would be more responsible, not as flashy and noticeable but still unique...but dat orange. It's like I'm having an identity crisis!

I thought that the Ford guy in charge of the GT350 said in a press interview that the car's top speed was drag-limited and not electronically limited.

YES...Jamal Hameedi did say the car IS DRAG LIMITED.

There is no speed governor. The aerodynamic limits of the car will eventually top out at where ever it does.

He provided this answer when specifically asked if the top speed of the car was limited.

It's possible they are both correct.

If you look at the gearing, it tops out at about 180 at redline in fifth gear. Sixth is too tall to go any faster, so on the one hand you could say there is no electronic limit, while on the other you could consider it to be limited to 180 by the rev limiter in fifth.

Either way, if it really can hit 180 that's pretty impressive.

The GT350 could only manage a VO2 max around 170mph on the 3km straight at Nurburgring.

Best efforts would not see 180mph from the GT350 there.

Can I ask another question? Does the "R" get a Flat colored stripe and the regular GT350 get a semi glossy stripe? or are some preproduction cars that are hit and miss with either? The reason I ask is the black "R" has a flat colored stripe while every GT350 "NON R" has glossy, but the white barret Jackson "R" car looked to glossy, which ruins my theory...
