Its interesting how Ford decides model year. My 2017 was built July of 2016. The chassis number is HR067. Weren't they still building 16s during that time?

Based on my understanding the last 2016 R models were built on Wednesday June 1st, 2016 with the first 2017 R models being built on Thursday, June 2nd 2016.

My 2017 R (HR019) was assembled on Friday, June 3rd 2016.

ok ok with the colors, lol. It's subjective. Point being, I haven't seen anything better than the 350R (and yes, 350 as well) in the works. For a moment, I liked the Mach and DH (mach over DH, honestly) but IMO, they didn't capture that specialness that the 350 has.

I do have mine for sale right now so naturally these are the questions floating around in my head.
500 is better looking than the Mach

Great question and you might be right (presently traveling) and maybe I have the build year wrong for HR909?

What I do remember is that I took delivery of 3 brand new GT350/R models in the first 7 months of 2016 namely F0077, GR107 and HR019 all of which were from 3 different model years.

If I recall correctly GR107 was assembled in April 2016 with HR019 being assembled just 2 months later and have attached a picture of the door jamb decal for HR019 which was my Ruby Red Base R indicating being built in June 2016.

Hopefully @Bender can confirm which year his R model was built and suggest that you may be correct with October 2017?

BTW, I also attached a picture of the door jamb decal for HR001 and is interesting to see that this 2017 R Base model was assembled in February 2016 which was well ahead of many regular production 2016 GT350R models including GR107 which I took delivery of in May 2016.

HR001 was the only 2017 pre-production Base R model built for that model year and was a TT (Tooling Tryout) example therefore a little trivia for you!

My R is a 2017 MY and built right at the end of the 2017 production run. I believe 942 is the highest R number plate. My blend date was 9/5/17, built 9/13/17, delivered to dealer in MI on 10/7/17, and i received it 10/17/17 after having it shipped to me

Appreciate the attached information for your vehicle and yes HR942 was the very last R model built for the 2017 model year which was the highest total number of R models built over the course of the 6-year production run.

Also suggest that the 2017 GT350/R model was the longest production run in terms of an overall timeline (for the 6-year run) with the 2017 GT350/R's being produced for a total of 16 months.

Nothing was worse than an E30 M3 I owned a while back…KBB was like 15K, private market was closer to 50K at the time (now prob 100K).

Another reason I love sites like BAT / Cars and Bids…provides some REAL market pricing transparency for specialty cars.

Was watching a video from Doug Demuro today and he was talking about how the used car market in general has softened. He mentioned a few cars that are coming down in value, and one was the Shelby GT350. There was one that he showed briefly that sold on his site for 39k and so he said they're now selling in the 30s thousand range. These cars have come down some but lower mileage cars in excellent condition are still getting MUCH more dollars than 35k. I've noticed that cars on his website sell for much lower prices than comparable cars on BaT.

Interesting and he’s clearly well informed, but I’m just not seeing that from my dealer contacts and other sales. I also wonder what the time frame is because there was a time there when rates first shot up and it chilled the market, but things have thawed and seemingly are quite strong again…

I have noticed Cars and Bids tends to be a better buyers market than sellers, but that’s still a big difference from what I’m seeing.

Market also becoming more nuanced though - spec, history, year, etc - much more dispersion in price based on things like that.

Dougs site is awesome, but they seem to get lower results compared to BaT. If anyone is actually paying attention to the car auction market, I don't know why anyone would want to sell there. The GT350R market is doing fine. Most R's are still selling for over MSRP. We just had a 2017 R sell for 96k at Mecum last weekend. Also on BaT a few weeks ago another 2017 R with 6k miles sold for over 90k.

Haha and be hella lowballed

Yeah right! Lets see, KBB shows it 42k. We'll offer you 43k towards your new Dark Horse!
I think you mean $40.5k as “we don’t go by KBB, we use Manheim…” lol

Low mileage Rs being sold in the mid 60's. People that bought 2 years ago can't be happy.

Why wouldn’t they be happy. They’ve been enjoying the car for two years by your take. I haven’t seen a low mileage R in the 60’s. 17’s up low mileage, nice cars, have been mid 70’s and up as of late. With 19’s and 20’s approaching six figures.

I'm sure it hurts feelings but there were/is a lot of people who thought they were buying an investment car and bought right at the top of the market. I think people buying an R probably fit in that box a little bit more.

Bottom line is, if you choose to drive it, it's not going to pay dividends ($). If you choose to park it, you're definitely not enjoying it.

I believe there were a handful on cars.com. this one on cargurus is priced a few thousand above the "market".

Personally, I am happy that I can still sell my car for what I paid for it 4 years and 15k miles ago. It's a unique situation for sure.
