Just got back from the Detroit auto show charity preview. Was a little disappointed at the Ford Mustang showings. 4 cars on the floor. 1 gt350 roped off, 2 ecoboost coupes and 1 gt vert. All 2016s. No 2017 s550s or any info on them. Couldn't even find a rep to ask questions like new colors or any changes that may or may not be coming. The white ford gt was pretty wicked though!
Order banks for 2017 are supposedly to open up in April.
I would not expect to hear any news on the 17MY until the end of summer
Order guides typically come out the Friday before ordering starts, so that would be April 1st.

That GT is amazing in white. The first thing I would do is paint the calipers black though. They stand out too much.

Today there was a gt350r upstairs, a white ecoboost coupe and a red convertible, the blue gt California convert, and a yellow gt performance pack coupe.

The new Ford GT is incredible - once that makes it to the streets, that car will hold it's value like the previous years Ford GT's. It's going to be a high dollar collectible in years to come.

If I had the opportunity to buy one - it WOULD BE a daily driver for sure. I just can't see mothballing a car just because it would be a "collectible some day". These are meant to be prowling the streets!

If there was one other iconic vehicle to bring back in "retro" form, IMO it would be the Pantera... Maybe some day...
