Why do I have to hit the fog light button every time I turn my lights on? This is the only car I have ever had to do that with. Normally if I hit the fog light switch they stay on every time i turn the head lights on.
This is very annoying and I am hoping I am missing something.
I did a search and couldnt find anything and also looked in the owners manual with no luck.

Where on "earth" are you living having to use fog lights at every trip ?

In EU you get a fine if you use them without fog or heavy rain...

Mine stay on. Or at least the fog light indicator has been on since I switched it on for the first time.

If you leave the headlight knob in Auto mode, the driving lights will remain on whenever you stop and start the car.

I leave the headlight knob in Auto and the foglights always come on whenever the headlights come on.

It sounds like the only option I have is to use the auto setting.
If I want them to come on with my parking lights only then I will have to hit the FL button again.

I have same issue (or non-issue really) as OP. I don't have my lights on Auto and like to choose when I use them.

We just have to keep turning it on I guess OP.

Works exactly the same as my wife's '14 Ram 1500, my previous Focus ST, Fiat Abarth, and Genesis Coupe. All of them had Auto light settings and the driving lights would only stay switched on when left in that position.

2010-14 was the same way except instead incorporated in one switch.

Rotate switch to select lighting, pull out to activate fogs. But every time you turn switch to off, the switch snaps back in so fogs are off if you were to turn the switch without also pulling as you turn it. Definitely like how this works ... much better than the 2015 switch.

I have mine on auto. I guess I got lazy with my F150 with the auto headlights.

like others have stated, if on auto, fogs come on if they were on last time. i'm not sure why you would want to manually control the headlights.

at least it's not like bimmers... even on auto the fogs wont turn on if it was on last time.

I like to have them come on when the parking lights are on
