Hello all, my track day season is starting soon and this will be my first time running in the Ecoboost Mustang. I know others have gotten these out on track but don't see much on here about oil weight for these motors.

Anyone have any input for a good weight to handle the heat? I have run boosted motors in the past and used 40 weight, but would love so shared experience from those who have gotten these out on track.

Pic because why not.

Its next on the list. Had to choose between intercooler and new brake fluid or oil cooler.
Garf, where and when are you going?

If you havent done Road Atlanta yet just have faith that there is a track on the other side of the hill after you come out of 10b. Keep the hammer down.

I run Royal Purple HPS 10W40 for my extended Autobahn runs. High zinc and molybdenum content are your friends if you are going to be beating on the turbo to protect the thrust bearings and seals. On the + side it seems to stay out of the yellow temp range longer than 5w30 did. These engines are in need of an oil cooler for extended track time though.

Was looking at the 2018 manual today and it states to run 5w-50 for the EB on track day.
