As for the nut "stretching" or deforming, it was just my best guess as to why everything says to NOT use it again.
The reason Ford says to replace the bolt is because it comes with pre-applied thread locker. It is cheaper to replace the nut under warranty than to have the tech clean the threads and apply new.

Ah, no, there is NOT thread locker on the new nut. I've got one still in the bag bought at a Ford dealership and there is non. The nut is not held on by thread locker. It's a partially out of round self locking nut. Once used the self locking part no long will hold the proper torque.

Lol bruh, throw it on. There will be blue schmutz on the threads afterwards. I can actually see threadlock in your picture.

below are two pics from recent front wheel bearing drama of mine. The rear is similar.

While you're purchasing a wheel hub assy don't forget to get a new axel nut, they are a 1 time use item. The torque is 98 lb ft then turn the nut 45 degrees further. part number for the nut is (CCPZ-3B477-G).
thank you, did not know that, and they just swapped my hubs for me.

*Update* Wheel bearing was toast... Ford replaced it under Power Train warranty.
Good to hear the problem was resolved...

Wheel hubs strike again... so many posts on here about the rear hubs failing with very low miles and also on S550's not even breaking 20k-50k miles... nothing is built to last any more.... LOL

The lame ford lug nuts are not helping this nor is the 200 nm torque value for them. A lot of tire places don't torque lug nuts to 200 nm which causes play in the wheel which in tern causes issues with the hubs. Investing in better lug nuts and a torque wrench is a must for this cars.

Have a knocking noise at low speeds, and I'm assuming it's my wheel bearing going bad. Is there a way to check if the bearing is still good, but the thrust washer needs replaced/removed?

Get it off the ground and see if their is excessive play in the hub. Grab the wheel at 12 and 6 o'clock, push in on one side and pull on the other. If your wheel teeters it's your bearing and the entire hub needs to be replaced. At least, that was my case.
