I'm still tracking this down, had the car since July, AZ weather turned "cold" and now in the mornings as I'm leaving the neighborhood, <20MPH, as I approach a turn and coast, there is a "whirring" or "whining" from what I think is the rear end. The sound definitely paces the speed of the car as it is higher pitch when it begins and the tone deepens as the car coasts or I begin braking.
I've dropped into neutral and it still does it.
This only started a few weeks ago when the AM temps are in the 40's. When the car warms up it goes away (maybe 1/2 mile to 1 mile). Does not seem to be related to the engine temp as I've idled for a while a few times and dash read 197 for engine the time I looked.
Any thoughts? I would think that by now LOTS of you in cold country would have heard this, which is what is making me uneasy.
It's a '17 GT w/ auto trans, 3400mi. Thanks.
