I, too, have an old ELM327 that I modded to read both busses. I'm WiFi to a Surface 3 with no issues writing. You sure the ELM is the issue?

FWIW I took my old ELM327 and added the switch to flip into MSCAN mode. It's WiFi, and it works fine for me. I'm only using it to flip bytes not real-time reading while driving.

I think what we really only need is to know the significance of each byte position in the string. The name of the memory address is just a bonus to make it easier for us to follow w/o the need for cross-referencing every address. I deal with this stuff all day at work (for other stuff) but...

The F150 guys documented this in byte format not the drop down screen but wrote "FORScan may not write these and give "invalid configuration" message. If so, you can't enable them"

Gotcha. I disabled CP in SYNC and messed around with it - ehh. I think I'll stick with CP. I wonder if the guys working on as-built mods will find the option to get CP to work via BT. Impossible until they all get CP updates in their cars. Seems most are waiting for that still to roll out...
