you're making me depressed. i want a full ARH headerback system, cai and tune myself.
If you're anything like me, there is plenty of legitimate stuff you should probably be spending time and money on, besides the Mustang. But, don't let that stop you. It certainly didn't stop me... Just do it.:D

How much did those headers run you?
Great deal from Lethal Performance on the bottleneck eliminator system (round about $1400 shipped). Being new to the game, I kept reading about how ARH is legit and a leader in the header business. Guess I'm getting ready to find out once I save up the money for the install.

So what does adding headers do? are there any other parts required with them? are any type of headers compatible with the Ford touring exaust

From what I understand, headers optimize exhaust flow and avoids excessive backpressure build up during the exhaust portion of the combustion cycle. This makes more power available to drive the crankshaft instead of working hard to push out exhaust gases. HP gains vary but I've read from 25 to 35 HP gains. Sounds like a tune is mandatory once headers are installed.

There are headers that can mate up with existing cat backs. A little cutting is required for the ARH system I got, but since I am not doing that install myself, it's all right. I don't know if other headers can bolt on directly to cat backs.

The frpp install doesn't require cutting right?

Correct. Bolt on in every sense of the word. Installs in an hour. Easy install.

Really...are the touring that quiet?
I installed the FRPP/ Borla Touring Catback on my GT about two months ago. I don't like how loud and raspy it is. I've been trying to get used to it these past couple of months and still don't like it.

It's to loud for me on acceleration, little to no drone, quite while crusing at Highway speed or just not pouring on the fuel.

But thats just me and my opinion, I'm also an older guy. If I was 20 years younger it would be more to my liking.

I've been thinking about putting my stock exhaust back on, selling my FRPP/Borla Touring CB. I might do an H-Pipe resonator delete instead.

yeah headers require a tune. and from what ive seen, headers, cai and a tune gets you to 450 to the wheel. thats about a 70-80 whp increase.

Headers require a tune adjustment to the TiVCT to account for increased scavenging, as well as the o2 transport delay function. If you're deleting cats, they also will need it to turn off catalyst overtemp protection.

LOL no way. watch the CJPP install vid and see for yourself how easy it is.

i paid $150 at my local mustang shop and thats on the high end. it should cost anywhere between 80-150, 1 - 1.5 hours labor tops.
