Guys, whether it be the C&D or Chaz's renderings, it won't be quite the same once the final product is revealed. Without absolute measurements and real lighting to highlight the car, it's a crap shoot. The renderings are a good "ball park" idea of what to expect. Chaz has it better than C&D, no doubt. Don't get too hung up on these, but know this is the best direction to go in until the unveil.
I agree.

But, in the meantime............. :hail:

There is only one level of Corvette currently. This was a "base" model optioned with Z51, etc. There will be a Z07 version in a year or so. Still, it appears that the Vette did very well against a 911 costing twice as much, winning the comparo (although the scoring system was flawed in regard to pricing).
Why would it be a "Z07"?

Sadly the first 2 cars I think of when I look at the rear quarter panel of the C&D Render are Not Mustangs...

I agree. These renders scream, GTO! These look like some euro/fusion coupe with a pony badge slapped on them.

While we understand that the original mustang was inspired by "european" styles, that was the birth of a new car. With that being said, you can't just throw 50 years of history out the window. The mustang is an icon. It should not resemble other cars.

Everyone knows that the mustang had the "corporate" look before, as in the 80's. Just because it happened once doesn't mean it should happen again. Ford should learn from that time.

I'm amazed at how many mustang "fans" don't really see the the first true modern evolution of the mustang....the 1994 mustang.

Having 30 years to it's name and coming out of a horrid styling period for cars. Leaving a previous generation that looked nothing like a mustang behind. It had all the major styling cues from the original, but yet looked very modern and you could still tell it was a mustang from a mile away.

I'll leave this here: :hail:

I think we all want hips but I don't think we all agree on what hips are. I want a wider rear with space from the greenhouse out to the fender. Others consider the upward kink in the fender line as seen from the side to be a hip. Which is it? This?

A lot of similarities, but affordably tamed down and the Mustang flavor kept intact.

Let me reiterate. The half camo spy shots are the real deal. Keep in mind, perspective, angle of view, and the camo Velcro left on the front end create some distortion of what the transition looks like from the front fascia to the hood and fenders.

The S550 is very "fastbacky".

About as fastback as I think we'll ever see again. The hips and rear glass taper do have a feel of a working man's Aston Martin to an extent. Just enough to be more modern without being too elegant or European.

I think the renderings from C&D are not that far away from those of chazcron in certain details, but the rear is much more clumsy and in some way closer to the current Mustang.

I deeply hope the final car is closer to chazcrons version (or to that from wild-speed), but actually, when I first saw them, I thought: That's to good to be true. They always put in some design 'feature' that turns everything down:doh:.

Sorry, but the shape of the 1994-1998 was far closer to a GTO(though it came before the GTO) than S550. And if you think the 1994 was a departure from the "corporate" look, Google search the 1994 Thunderbird, 1994 Crown Vic, and 98 Escort. And that is just the cars. Google a 96 Windstar.

To each their own, but this car says Mustang far more than the 94-98 SN95 says Mustang. At least IMO.

A gt500 is not a good all around car, the vette beats it by far (as far as all around car goes)
If that's your opinion, ok.

We've had our 2013 GT500 for a year now & it is BY FAR a much more comfortable all-around car! At least, as a daily driver that will spank the pants off almost every car out there twice the price!

Now if your opinion is based purely on track performance, then the Vette can be marginally better. Differences in driver skill could also vary results as much as the differences in track performance numbers.

I love the gt500, I've driven a 14, was an awesome car with big power. It is no where near as nice on the inside as a new vette, not as comfortable, doesn't handle as good, etc... I think you should go check out the new vette and I think you might see what I'm talking about.
