The weather now in south FL is literally on & off rain, and then sun+rain and again more rain.... so in the meantime I turned the Miata into a more fun toy. So I recently installed new coilovers and added wider wheels w/ stickier street tires to start.... then got it aligned & set up for track camber/caster/toe specs, etc. Now it's a gay gray lil hoonigan... gay as in happy happy joy joy. :D

And I'm also looking forward to two track schools again... soon this Sept.

First at Ron Fellows Corvette Racing School advance Level 2 and then back at UMC again on 9/17-18 for the GT350 Track Attack. :)

From my Level 1 event at Spring Mountain in 2015...

And from last Oct's Track Attack at UMC...

if you're so inclined, I highly recommend the radical school at Spring Mountain. Those SR3's are an absolute blast to drive. It's my second favorite driving school to date...with the first place going to DirtFish.

very cool article. Is it possible to hit 140 on that track tho? unless they ran the whole east west straight combined?

Yup... a full combined E+W circuit (i.e. the outer track) which creates a looong front straight. But they don't do this for the GT350 Track Attack school... bummer.

And to add more fun (and envy for us) is it looks like they did the 23-turn circuit as well! :headbang:

I traced it in red below... I guess, I think... but no matter that must have been amazing! :D

So I just did the Level 2 Ron Fellows Corvette Performance Driving School at Spring Mountain in Pahrump NV... it was a blast!

I chose just a C7 Z51 Stingray (manual) and in short I think it proved it can hold its own against the big Z06 dog. Except on the straights.... :D

I ended up placing 4th fastest lap time out of 16 total attendees, some of which have been there at least 2-3 times already for Level 2. We did the North-South course with the added busstop-carousel-loop sector... this track is quite technical, easy to make mistakes and as a result lose time.

After two days, the fastest laptime was a Z06 at 1:57 (for 1st place) and then two more Z06 drivers a couple ticks behind him and then low & behold-
me at 2:01 in my underpowered Stingray plus I was the fastest Stingray driver there. The instructors were calling me the Z06 hunter... lol so yeah it felt humbling and jolly... all in all it was very fun and a great learning experience again- to correct mistakes and fine tune track skills more & more. There's always room for improvement especially at a track I don't have alot of seat time in... but the C7 is still a blast to drive! :)

Looks like fun, do they offer the Grand Sport yet? That would be my pic.

Btw, stay safe down there, hopefully you and the rides are able to find shelter.
