I just spent about 1hr 30min reading all the pages in this thread.
Very interesting and educational.

All I can say is that I am glad that I live in Clearwater FL. just an hour from Bradenton for the NMRA event in March...I will make sure to bring my video recorder.

Makes it easier to watch this monster of a car go in person !!!

Nice! You put together the bottom end? Is it just a simple rods and Pistons ?

PHASE 2 of this build is being planned and should start soon.

Thus far, I have two converters to test out.

One is a stock converter (thanks Chris@SBD!) that was sent to Circle D to modify a little.

The other is a custom unit from BTS / Precision Industries.

The 6R80 Trans will be getting upgraded with Exedy Stage 2 Clutch kit and Billet Intermediate Shaft.

The TVS will undergo some changes that I will perform myself. Open up the ports a little PRE and POST rotors, to help with efficiency / less heat.

The Engine - have not decided quite yet. My plan is to spin the engine to about 9,000RPM.

I am considering Livernois Motorsports. I would like their sleeved shortblock with their components, my heads with Livernois magic, and some Comp Cams. The big ones.

New goal is up there. Impossible I would think. I want to achieve 8.499 on boost only with the VMP TVS.

So are you thinking about keeping compression on the higher side and boost lower for efficiency? Or are we gonna let the TVS rip? I'm sure that we will go over this for a while in FL lol.

For those of you that will not be at the races in a few weeks here is what we are talking about:

POWERSTORM FORD 5.0L RACE SERIES SHORTBLOCK

POWERSTORM FORD 5.0L 2011-14 RACE SERIES CYLINDER HEADS

With those heads, do you need to run 11-14 cams, and ecu? Noob question. :)

UPDATE:

So I decided to go with Livernois Motorsports for my new engine combination.

I will be getting a complete longblock from them.

These kind of choices are important. I used to work with Livernois years back, and seeing how things go down first hand behind those doors is more than enough to make me confident in my choice.

I am hesitant to share the specifics to the build at this time, since some of the engine build details are a little more "serious" than your typical high performance Coyote engine build.

I will say, we are shooting for a little more than stock compression, high flowing cylinder heads, a very strong sleeved block, very strong rotating assembly, and we are relying on Comp for the very aggressive camshafts. ;)

May the 9,000 RPM Gods be with us!

I have my fingers crossed to see this bad boy rip down Bradenton this Saturday with that new long block under the hood. :D

Looks like im not the only one wanting to stay at or above the stock compression ratio.
