I currently have fairly new PSS in non-R OEM size tires, and have noticed they definitely lose some traction on colder and damp mornings. Despite living in CA, most of my spirited driving actually happens in the 45° - 60° F range, either in the mornings by my house or on the coast, or at night in the Sierra Nevada. When the PSS wear out would I possibly improve traction at those temperatures by switching to PS4S in 295/35ZR19 square, or maybe even PSAS4 in 285/40ZR19 square? I'm not clear how quickly the PSS performance falls off as temperature drops. Also, added rain traction would be a bonus as on longer trips I can't always avoid it.
