The Mach 3 Mustang was pretty shitty

I just had to chime in and defend the MachIII. I remember seeing it at the Chicago Auto Show when I was 11. It was the coolest car I had ever seen. I had the poster on my wall and I still have the die cast model in my garage.

s550 third

i personally hate the exterior style of all the fox bodies.

For me the best is the 2015+ S550. Why? Because before this car came out I would never even consider a Ford. Now suddenly I own one.

After that, I would say 2010-2014, then the '64.5-'69.

Not a fan of the Fox bodies, and never liked the huge oil tanker front end on the '70. The Mustang 2 is also not great, though I always thought the one in Charlie's Angels looked cool.

Just my opinion...

Im going to say the S550. Because its my first Mustang!

For me the best is the 2015+ S550. Why? Because before this car came out I would never even consider a Ford. Now suddenly I own one.

After that, I would say 2010-2014, then the '64.5-'69.

Not a fan of the Fox bodies, and never liked the huge oil tanker front end on the '70. The Mustang 2 is also not great, though I always thought the one in Charlie's Angels looked cool.

Just my opinion...

Agree with the OP, throw in the 80's 5.0. I didn't like any other Mustang and was one of the people calling them "Rust-Stangs"

1985 GT. Last of the carburetors, t-tops... It was a sweet car and pretty much kicked off the 5.0 revolution. Then the '87. First of the aero Fox body cars. Last of the t-tops. That's when it really took off.

Agree. I had a silver 85 gt manual but it had the sun roof not the t-top. That was a fun car!

2000 Cobra R was my favorite look for the Mustang followed closely by the 2016 GT350. I also really liked the 2000-2002 Saleen Mustangs.

Worst? Fox body probably. It didn't resemble a mustang to me, either from the front or the back. Hell, the front didnt even have a galloping stalion for Pete's sake...

Many of us bought the grill kit with the Mustang emblem. Let's face it, though. If not for the popularity of the Fox, specifically the 5.0, Ford might have killed off the Mustang. The model was basically dead from 75 to 85 without a serious high performance option. The '85 GT changed all that. The' 87 really made them hit.

I was in high school and military during that era, and the 5.0 was THE car to have. We all knew someone that had one, it was affordable, and could easily be modded to beat anything on the street. And they looked good.

The only other cars if that era that were the bad asses were the Buick Grand National or a Camaro. An no one was cool in a Camaro. Lol

We must be close in age, lol. The other popular cars were Monte Carlos and Chevelles, at least where I grew up.

My high-school girlfriend's neighbor had a blue 85 Pontiac Trans AM. I had a 79 Cobra Mustang at the time but I tell you, that T/A looked kick ass.

I have to agree with others here that i would have never considered a mustang if not for the Beautiful looks of the S550
1-S550
2- 67-69 fastbacks Obviously where the 550 draws inspiration.
3 all other first gen fastbacks
4 Late S197s
5 New Edge

Everything else goes from Meh (Early s197s) to Blah (Mustang II Ghia)

Don't hate me but I actually prefer some II Fastbacks like these

to most Fox bodies
