I think I'm not in the majority on this site, but I want it to be supercharged.
Some of the guys on the other Mustang forum do as well.
I'm also curious. Any specific reasons? And because I prefer it doesn't count lol.

Not in my opinion. They'll probably run into belt slippage. Drag cars can get away with it (cobra jet) but not in a street application.

Although 8000rpm will make this another special engine FPC or CPC. Let's see what happens. I hope you're right!
The last gt500 reved to 7000 and no problems. It has a wide belt, so I'm sure that helped. I put the 2psi pully on it and never had slippage. 8000 could be pushing it but I'm expecting 7500+ to make it more interesting. I'm curious how much boost it will take with the 2.65l supercharger and 5.2 to produce 755 HP.

Why would you want to leave a good amount of power and efficiency on the table?
I agree! turbos are more powerful and efficient. I am still hoping for tt for the gt500. I really want a factory turbo car with a warranty. If no turbo I will twin turbo my gt or go with the corvette z06 or zr1. I am afraid with the adm's on the car the z06 will be cheaper and faster anyway!

Ehhhhhhhhh,....not really feeling the turbos. I'll be honest. Just a personally preference. I agree, turbo cars make great power and are FAST!

How is it going to sound with the turbos though?

I think it will sound good with a high rpm v8 twin turbo. V6, different story.

I'm still hoping for twins.
It would be a great way to separate the manufactures. Let ford stand all alone between the 3 to have a turbo pony/muscle car , and is really the only way I can see making demon power out of the 5.2 without sacrificing economy/emissions
Even if ford only brought 750 hp to the show, a simple tune, as long as the turbo is large enough, would bring demon numbers and beyond on 93O

I agree! Im holding out hope for twins as well! if not then why make a gt500? They could add a auto option and the tvs option to the gt 350 and be done with it!

Yeah,...maybe it would. Blow off valve galore. LOL
I think the GT500 could get to that power level, 750HP, easily and beyond with a supercharger. Especially if it uses the new 2650 TVS coming out. Which "rumors" are suggesting.
See the specs on that bad boy??!

  • 170 degree twist (vs. 160 degree)
  • Better sealing with optimized Length-over-Depth ratio
  • Increased durability with bigger bearings and thicker timing gears
  • Pressure relief ports in bearing plate for reduced input power
R2650 versus R2300

  • 4% more efficient
  • 15% larger (2300cc vs. 2650 cc)
  • 18% less input power required
  • 25% more air flow at 18,000 RPM and 14 psi boost (2.0 Pressure Ratio)
  • 72% isentropic efficiency vs. 68%

Honestly,......all I care about is that it's got killer looks, killer performance with gobs of power/torque and sounds killer. :ford:

For someone like me where my industry is all about numbers, that sort of excites me. Nice

Like Jessica Biel moaning under me, not you... absolutely freaking awesome!

I'd much prefer turbo whirl, wait a minute, two turbo whirls superimposed on a v8 rumble than a supercharger whine.

Demon allocations went out this am. Can start ordering tomorrow. I turned it down at msrp. I was thinking about trying it but I have a feeling of just want to sell it eight away.
Come on ford.... we're waiting!!
