I can't for the life of me find it on google. Just article after article about the 3.9 with a10 and pp.

If the 2018 GT w/ A10 without PP is pretty far off like 4.3/4.4, what is it about the PP that helps so much?

Is it mainly tires? Gearing? Or is launch control only available with PP?

i would think a GT with an A10 would do better than low to mid 4's given that mid 4's is what a manual can do with a perfect launch. However, will be interesting to see what more knowledgable folks have to say. Tires and gearing are the easiest way to improve acceleration on the low end..

Well factory 3.55 gears with 275 width Michelin PS4’s on the pp1 help. The other non pp factory options only have 255 or 235 all season tires. Better traction is why the pp1 car does better 0-60.

It's all about traction. The PP just has a bigger patch of rubber hitting the ground. And the gearing helps. I've got a buddy w/ an a10 base, and if I can't get my car to hook he'll fender me a time or two on a 0-60 run. He pulls 4.4's and 4.5's pretty consistently, but honestly it's traction that controls everything.

If it's mostly the tires though, and as someone who always gets aftermarket wheels, I wonder if the PP isn't worth it for me then to get a sub 4 seconds 0-60, as i'd upgrade the tires to better rubber anyway.

If you typically do your own suspension, wheels, and cooling, then the PP is definitely a waste for you.

0-60 times are on a prepped surface. You won't get that on the street unless you find good pavement. I was usually around 4.6, with R rated tires when stock. Around 5secs now with 750 HP on single lane backroads. 0-60 is a useless metric made for euro cars not front engines american muscle cars

^ I know I won't personally get 3.9 easily or at all cause of rollout and surfaces, but still a metric i'm using just for conversation. Wanting to know how much acceleration I'd lose without the PP IF I still get similar or better tires.

A fair amount but you can get some nittos or MT drag radials, lock down the irs and do better (than PP) on a good surface street.

That.

The only times I've gotten my PP under 4 was on one specific piece of real estate. Hold the brakes, launch at 2K and hope it hooks. 98% of the time no matter how much you try it's gonna be a 4.4 - 4.6 on regular roads, PP or not. There is just too much power being put down.

I have a non pp 18, with optional 3.55 gears and factory 20’ wheels with all season good years and A10.
I get 4.6 consistently. I have tried almost empty gas tank for weight savings and no difference.
Same with a full tank of gas and a passenger 4.6
This is from drag mode with a quick chirp off the line and a good chirp through 2nd and 3rd

I think it's just your tires, even if you don't hear the wheel spin the car is always trying to correct for it. I notice a massive difference on a pull where the car is trying to intervene versus when the car actually grips the entire time. But strangely there's never any flashing lights or anything, just silent power reduction.

I believe that 0-60 time is also with magneride using drag mode.

Does magneride affect acceleration?

Also is drag mode only available on PP?

ALSO, what is the difference between launch control vs just poor mans launch control of foot on brake and revving to whatever rpm. I know the latter is bad for the engine, but what is mechanically happening in launch control that is different?
