Crap and now I read above that I can get Amsoil at 25% off. Ahhh. Decisions decisions. From the voting chart Amsoil is one of the lower used ones though.
AMSOIL isn't as popular, but their products are top notch. They'll never be able to outsell Mobil, Penzoil, etc who market like crazy. their distribution channel is almost much smaller, but like I said their fluids never leave anyone disappointed.

+1 all the way. Swore by it in my Carrera and 5 and 3 series.

Amsoil is pretty low on the list of the guy who test the oils. He has pennzoil Ultra sn api at the top. 5_30

He tested their OE oil.

SS > XL > OE.

Their OE is $4.70 a quart. Their SS is $7.85.

I didn't catch the part about ss, XL, and oe. What is the difference? Can I still find it at walmart? :)

AMSOIL, no, but their pricing is dirt cheap on their website.

OE is just their OEM replacement. XL is better, and their SS is the best.

Oohh ok. I think I'm going to join their club than to get the discount.

So I'm assuming the ss is low in zinc? I think that's the additive he said effects our cars the most.

Funny thing about oil. Everyone has one the "swear by", but.....why? If they all meet the sn rating, and not had a failure of their engine induced by an oil issue, why would you swear by it? Bottom line they are all good, no one that I have read about on this forum has had an oil issue, and therefore, no reason to really stand by one versus another.
I go for whatever is inexpensive, meets the grade, and is synthetic.

Oil analysis. Some are better than others. Big difference between a car that is just daily driven as a commuter vs a car that is beat on.

I'm about to pull the trigger on Amsoil signature series 5w20 and their extended life oil filter. Thoughts anyone? I'm getting 25%off whole purchase but gotta pay 10 for shipping. I haven't seen an oil analysis on signature series Amsoil. Synthetic. This would be second oil change. Used motor craft synthetic blend on first one. Doesn't burn any oil. Debating if I should change

That's the same oil and filter I use. I like beating on my car and seeing the full rev range everyday and wouldn't really want to use much else.
