Agree with comments on the great writeup. It sounds great too. I installed the Summit Racing H-pipe recently and have a feeling I want a bit more sound. Unfortunately, I like to DIY and the welding part of this mod is beyond my abilities. I guess using band clamps is out of the question due to the bends? How difficult was it to fabricate the muffler hangers? And would anyone know what a shop would typically charge to install a setup like this?

I was quoted $125 to cut off and install everything.

That is really decent. I'm asking because, in this thread, the poster paid $400 for labor for basically the same thing (+ x-pipe install). I guess I can always shop around for myself.

Who paid $400 for the install? That's insane. Also, I have another muffler option you could go with that is half the price of the magnaflows if your interested.

Hey Kris,

I plan on doing this DIY exhaust just as you have. Do you happen to know the diameter of the steel rod that used for the hanger? Appreciate you taking the time to share this project to the community. Nice work!

How does it sound in the higher RPM? Deep or high pitched? I also have an x pipe so just seeing my options!

With an Hpipe it's deep with no rasp or drone. An Xpipe will be a little more high pitched and raspy.

I can't tell how it sounds at high rpm, my engine and intake are louder at high rpm. It's not high pitch from what I can tell but there is some rasp, per the nature of the x pipe.

Just want to say thanks to the OP. I just did the same exhaust. Love the sound. Perfect for a convertible and no drone.
