It appears I can be added to the this list.

2015 GT is at the dealer for a third time with no refrigerant over the last 6 months. Dealer is giving me the run around about how its holding a charge and not leaking. Seems pretty clear to me this is the Evap issue as I had colder air on the passenger side and a whirling sound.

How do I convince them this is the issue? Is Ford telling dealers anything about this?
Update - Dealer finally agreed its the evaporator. Putting one of his best guys on it given the work involved, but that means over a week without my car. Just hoping it gets fixed once and for all.

Tell them you want the car while the part is ordered. They don't need it an entire week. (Unless they are covering a rental for you.)

It's all good - they gave me a loaner.

And while I'm sure some people would love a brand new Escape, I'd like my GT back (although I do prefer a car with A/C)

I'm guessing vibration taking its toll on defective seams.
Maybe some of that, but probably more so is the repeated stressing of the materials due to thermal cycling the system. Seems that guys in the hot southern parts of the country who use their AC 95+% of the time have theirs go out with low mileage.

Charged mine up on Sunday and it's still blowing cold.

I used a refrigerant that has a sealant in it. I wonder if I'll get lucky and the sealant will work its magic and stop the leak? Nah. I'm never lucky like that.

That sounds like a bad plan. If they find a reason to say that refrigerant ruined the internals, they will.

Maybe so. But I'm not riding around in a hot car while waiting for
the evaporator to come in. It's over 100 degrees here.

not all..

the manufacturer was changed somewhere late 2016 . SO few builds might see new design.

BUt again we have had many revisions and Y one is supposed to be on for sometime like a final build hopefully.

So fingers crossed
is there any proof of the manufacturer change? i need to go look at my build date..anyone know that info? i use the ac year round down here..

Ford is still changing the part number right now ... so I'd say any S550 made is suspect of having the AC evaporator fail at some point.

Yeah, that does seem more likely.
