Hmmm... where did you see that I said it got pushed back?:headbonk:

Unless Ford continues this serious last-minute unveiling as they have done with the 18MY Mustang and the GT, we should see some interesting test mules or camoed 21MY Mustangs running around in late 2019 and early 2020.
Yeah sorry about that, I posted before that I had misread what you said.

I highly doubt they'd leave the GT350 body work alone.

Would it not be just like the 12-13 changes for the Boss 302? Mechanicals and chassis left unchanged, bodywork updated?

Put me in for a vote for that...

Why would you doubt it if that's what they are telling dealers? I am surprised too but there is no other way of reading it. My guess is 1 last year before they roll out a gt500 that is based on the refresh.

Probably because I didn't read that part of the release :headbonk:

Seems unusual, oh well, carry on.

Just can't get enuff!
Jezuz.... personally I'm glad they will extend it. One more year is fine IMO. The ones that are outright irked are the flippers or garage ornament'ers preserving ultra low mileage and factory plastics, etc.... drive the damn thing and I don't mean to just car shows or once in a blue or strawberry moon.

The more GT350/R they make, the better for all car enthusiasts/fans/future owners. If anything the biggest or best take away is hopefully no more silly ADM's even for an R. Do that and all of them will sell quicker than whatnot. Now let's look forward to them MY2018 GT350 color changes and additions!

I'm good with 1 or 2 additional years for the gt350/R. why?

It creates better economics for aftermarket parts development. Right now, one of the biggest frustrations is lack of aftermarket parts / cost of available parts.

To each their own. Those that buy cars as an investment are not buying gt350s. ( most guys I know that do this have moved on to exotics)

When you look at any vehicle as a depreciating asset ( save for prescriptive scenarios), rarity and production numbers are less important.

I'm fine with it. It gives me another choice of how to deal with my 16 tech. Maybe I won't do the coolers and sell it after a year and half (if the economics of it look ok) and pick up an 18.

The GT350 AND the Flat Plane Crank 5.2 V8 WILL continue production until Model Year 2020.

The GT500 IS coming, still time for a few 2017.5's but 2018 for sure. The GT500's powerplant is based on the Cross Plane version of the Voodoo displacing either 5.2 or up to 5.4 liters. It will use an Ecoboost design similar to the PowerStroke engines. It is called a Hot V Turbo and will produce 808hp...

None of this information is new... all of this was discussed in great detail months ago.

I agree, I think its just one more year, and why not given it was a smashing success. It also gives them a little extra time to finish up the GT500. Im guessing they are behind in development with the GT500, hence the late news of extending the GT350 for one more year.

Now do I start looking for that R at MSRP;)

The contract says the Voodoo will continue until 2020. Not sure why nobody can read a contract :(

Exactly, I could be very well tempted to trade in my 'base 16 for a '18 AT.

It sounds like any dealer can enroll in the GT350 program for a thou no matter if they ever sold a Mustang. YAHOO ! I wonder if each dealer enrolled in the GT3350 program has the choice of a GT350R over a GT350. Heck , I may give my favorite dealer a thou to enroll if I can get a GT350R.

The internet warriors do not care. I want a screen shot, with your full name and employee number visible, and your managers contact info so I can verify your'e a legit employee.
And put a bottled water next to your monitor.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see both a GT350 and GT500 in MY18. The GT500 coming as a late model year addition. They have historically existed at the same time. Why not continue that practice?

Plus as zombiekiller said it helps justify aftermarket companies making parts for the GT350 with another model year of sales.
