I was willing to take maybe a $900-1000 gamble on this, but not $1800.

I'll for sure wait until someone tries it and confirms it works.

If Ford reads this forum - there is money to be made here guys. Offer an upgrade path for this for < '18s. I think many of us would be in if it was reasonable.

I'm short on cash right now but I'll try in the spring if someone hasn't by then.

Ford wouldn't offer any sort of upgrade path. They didn't for MFT -> Sync 3, and they sure as hell won't here... and if they did, it would probably be ridiculously expensive.

They have an upgrade path, it's called trade in your 15-17 for a 2018. Ford wants to sell cars, that's why they add features over the model years.

Maybe some of us don’t want to spend $35-40K+ on a new 201a or 401a 2018?? All for a simple gauge cluster? Maybe some of us want the challenge of adding the cluster to a previous gen car?

In response to the post above, no official Ford upgrade will ever come. It’s a staple feature of the 2018 and will not offer it to previous generations. It will be up to us to figure out how to install it in previous gens.

I will be browsing the 2018 wiring diagrams soon to see if there was any wiring changes that would make this swap more difficult.

There are going to be wiring diagram changes, especially to the steering wheel controls since there is now a "pony" button instead of the "talk button" on the wheel. Sounds like the BCM and APIM coding will have changed as well to get the cluster to work. Hopefully there is a way to accomplish this.

I just completed my upgrade. $1600 in parts. $80. for the OBDC interface. 4 hours to break down dash and reinstall.
1 hour to learn basic forscan, 1 hour to re-program.

It looks awesome, works perfectly, money well-spent. And I have a Digital Speedo now!!

This is the only interior part of my base GT I would consider upgrading. Looks freaking awesome. Though something tells me not all the features would work. Do all the features work?
