3.5l ecoboost is not exactly a motor they should drop into everything. lots of stutters and complaints on the truck side, and mileage, forget about it. I think there is some merit to what GM has done with their v8s.
The 3.5 in the new raptor and in the GT is not the same as the current 3.5l. It's actually much more similar to the 2.7l in archetecture. The 2015 4 door long bed 4x4 f-150 3.5l ecoboost in my driveway gets 22 mpg highway. 17-18 mixed. That's about 9mpg to the good of what my supercab raptor would do on the highway.

Oddly my friend had enough issues out of his variable displacement chevy that he sold the truck. Most of the stutters were addressed with updated intercoolers, the rough idle is inherent to direct injected engines and was addressed with the addition of port injection on the gen 2 3.5l.

Well crap, that new door sill plate is freaking terrible. Guess I'll have to figure out how to swap them. Sigh.

In case anyone wants to know, I just ordered a set of 16 sill plates from autonation ford http://www.fordparts.com/autonationfordwhitebearlake usually a pretty good discount Ford parts outlet. The cost of the plates from them is $161.57 per side, normal retail from Ford is $240. I bit the bullet and ordered a set. That's how much I hate the new sill plates.

"GT350" would have been fine for the door sill. The motor specs I think on the 15/16 cars is a little tacky.
I agree with you that we didn't need to be reminded that we were entering a Shelby and powered by a 5.2 liter V8 FPC engine and to me this side bar looked a little out of place but I really liked the "GT350" logo on the door sill kick plate.

Having said that I suggest that Ford was so excited about this new engine and first year model (2015/2016) that their enthusiasm carried over to the door sill area and wanted to make sure that everyone knew that they were entering a new model with new engine techology for this offering.

Now in the 3rd year of production I think that Ford and Ford Performance (Dave Pericak) wanted to clean up a couple of areas and this was one of them.

I like both door sill kick plates and every time that I open the door on any of my GT350's the varied door sill logos will remind me of a great start to the day. How good is that!!!!:hail:

BTW, am I correct in suggesting that now the "Shelby" name will only show up on 1 place on these new 2017 models versus 3 places on the previous 2 model years?

I agree, the step plate looks like a cheap add on. Also, the extra speaker looks out of place.
The strut brace is ok but I prefer the red SVT one.

It looks like it will be an illuminated entry. Link below.
That just means the lights come on when you open the door. That's it. You also get a driver side vanity mirror, oooooooo!

I looked at this last night. It reduces it from 2 locations to one (splitter) as far as I can tell. Not sure of the third one.

Oh god damn it. Another tweeter was NOT the 2 extra speakers I was hoping for. Seriously, the system had problem with LOWS not highs.

Anyway, I liked the FPs plate better. The whole "Blah: blah" thing seems like something my 6 year old would print out.

Looking forward to not resting my elbow on that hard ass door plastic though.
Yeah it's just the GT Premium System without the subs. Still no low end. Hot garbage.
