Kudos on picking the seam leading over bondo, it's a lost art and far superior.
Thanks Dave...It's much stronger than bondo especially where flexing can happen. The application was a bit messy but pretty straightforward. This was the "lead free" solder. Took a little bit to figure out best way to apply and smooth but we're happy with results.

Wow. What an amazing effort. If I were to restore a car I’d definitely want you on my team! Your attention to detail is incredible. This will definitely be an heirloom car.
The factory never came close to what you’re doing. Can’t wait to see the finish!

Another pic from blaster. Think he’s doing great job. We may have him do the top coat. It’s coming along great.

I’ll let my son know! It’s his project and I’m just the copilot 😃

Thanks. Still a lot of work to do before bodywork and paint. Three months to get all suspension, brakes, engine, trans etc sorted out. Have most suspension and brake parts. Waiting on axels. Will probably send out top loader and 351W for a refresh to save time. When you spread the cost over 5 years it’s so cheap to restore 😂
Just ordered a new complete body hardware set from CJ Pony.

It's going to be a beauty.

I need to prod one of my buddies to fully redo the red on red, J-code, 4-speed '68 GT fastback that he's owned since the '80s. It hasn't seen the light of day in over 20 years.

thanks! make sure to use his money :cwl: I have labor and $$$ tied up in this as well as my garage space but not as much as my son. Had my GT/CS live in it a little bit last year but not for long. It will be leaving for final body and paint in three months if we're lucky.

Training wheels are off! Son pulled the rotisserie off yesterday. First time in over a year it’s back on jack stands! He started on suspension but we need new front spindles to go with Wilwood front discs.
