I have a paxton car with 3.6 pulley.

Looking at adding the boss intake or an 18 mani, car is currently on 93 but a new e85 station is being built right next to my house so it's getting a fuel system and E soon and want the most I can get out of this setup.

I've tried to do the research and have seen pretty good things about the 18 Intake, like Velgens thread with his vortech. but not much info on the Boss.

I know the boss loses power N/A and it doesn't fit under the stock hood. I have a cervinis cowl so not concerned about fitment, and I've heard great things about the boss and boost.

just looking for the best option between the two. And maybe a little more info on the boss with the paxton.

According to this guy, a ported boss will make more power than an 18 manifold.

Get the 18... Clears stock hood no modifactions required.. On par with GT350 for $300 its impossible to beat it.

You have the hood to make it fit, I would go Boss intake so you don't have to lock out IMRC's.

I have a boss on my Paxton setup and it pull like a freight train up top. If you want to get the most out of it, concerned about tq loss, send it out to Brett Barber and you'll pretty much be at the level off a stock CJ setup.

Go with the BOSS. It isn't an expensive or big job to lower the engine a bit to make it fit either. And it will make more power based on the design.

But you don't have IMRCs with either setup.

I went with the 18 Manifold and will be installing it sometime in the couple of weeks. But yes I've also been told that the Boss is best for boost. Especially a ported boss.

I mainly went with the 18 manifold because:

1. I got it for a good price.
2. I'd rather spend time locking out the IMRC's then lowering my engine.
3. It will retain a stock look.

Also, I'm dropping it off to get ported today so hopefully that will help as well!

I thought only Cobra jet mani had to have engine lowered or notched hood not the Boss mani.

Sounds like the boss is the Majority consensus.

again I have a Cervinis cowl so no notching hood or lowering of engine required.

I would try to stay impartial, but then when I open my hood I see this....

I ported my boss before I had the Paxton. But it pulls like a freight train to 8k.

Seat of pants descriptions are useless. It would be nice to see 1/4 changes of both over the stock intake. I ran my car with stock and 2018 on a e85 Paxton 3.48 and it added 1 tenth and 1 mph. I have not been back on the dyno but it would seem the results are not impressive.
